  • Exploring the problem of popping sounds

VishBK Hello, Toyota CANBUS cannot control factory AMP on/off!
2 test methods, looking forward to your feedback results, thanks!
1: Please turn down the stock volume in “Vehicle Information”-“AMP Settings” to verify if the thumping sound is still present.
2: Did setting the stock volume to 0 stop it from thumping the next time you start the car?

Hi, the problem with popping sound solved but now i dont know how to stop the runnig logs on screen, wait for your help

dudu-lai So connecting the amp control wire and updating the MCU would not fix this problem? Setting the amp volume to 0 fixes the thumping noise but I cannot hear any sound as a result. Maybe a workaround for the engineer could be setting it 0 before the head unit shuts off then seeing it to the previous value when it starts up.

Yesterday i updated the Firmware of the Mekede M6 with DUDU OS.
When you put in the USB stick and the head unit then reboots to the firmware update, no pop.
Directly after the update when it starts, no pop.
If you then reboots the head unit, pop.
But it seems that it happens in the shutdown phase not in the start phase.
But this is just a though, i don't know how fast the rebot phases are.
In tve car is no AMP. It is the head unit with OEM speakers.

VishBK You can try to update the MCU. You need to connect the ACC line of the CANBUS box to the AMP CONT of the A connector.

dudu-lai I have connected the Amp control cable to the AMP C harness cable on my subaru outback 2017 with OEM harman kardon amplifier. and also applied the MCU Updates from here. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1QHfKsoY7tsgg4Bls8ezOjKWCTBwZ5NNy?usp=sharing
The noise still happening during Dudu OS boot. do i need to also install the APK for jeep. or can you provide me with the one compatible with subaru? sharing here my dudu info. and a picture showing the connected amp cont cables

          Thanks for your support!

McDudu Prior to this, was the AMP control wire connected to the ACC cable or was it not connected to the

dudu-lai no it was not connected, i soldered the two after i received your feedback regarding this cable needed to be connected to the harness. The harness did not have (AMPC) this pin was empty. so i had to take this cable from another harness to be able to connect it to the amp control cable.
here is what the wiring harness looked like prior

McDudu If there is no connection, then it is not controlled by the AMP line. If I unplug the CANBUS box, will there be sound from the speaker?

dudu-lai My harness did not come with an exposed ACC wire.

                    VishBK

dudu-lai I should depin this from the canbus connector?

VishBK Yes, remove PIN9 and test the stereo for sound. If there is no sound, PIN9 on the CANBUS side controls the AMP on, then connect the AMP C cable from connector A to the CANBUS box end PIN9

dudu-lai no. Without the canbus you get no sound , the Subaru outback with Harman kardon amplifier required Canbus to get audio with after market headunits. Here is the pin diagram for the original harness

                          Regards

dudu-lai should i remove this Amp C connection from my harness since you mentioned this amplifier is not controlled via this cable? and what is the solution in this case. I have had 2 different Android Based headunits in the pass on my subaru outback connected with the same cambus and harness combination and they did not cause the thumping or popping noise on boot. so i can confirm this is possible i just dont know with the DUDU7 what is the fix here. thanks for your feedback and support.

I'm interested in this as well. I have 2016 Subaru Outback with the HK system as well. I don't have issues with the popping on startup but the sound is terrible past mid level with lots of popping and static. Sounds as if the OEM Amp is over powering the speakers. I'm curious if the AMP is wired correctly or not.

McDudu Is there no sound when the power supply ACC is disconnected from the CANBUS terminal?
If there is no sound, you can disconnect the power supply of ACC from the CANBUS terminal and then connect the CANBUS terminal using AMP C.

                                dudu-lai
so you are basically trying to control the powering of the oem amplifier using the C control cable. my CANBUS options do not show this power management control for the amplifier. see attached pictures. the hardware i am using is simple soft xp. I will have to take the headunit apart again to try this, please confirm . (side note , since i lasted posted , I updated the headunit to 3.5 beta 3. did not solve any of my issues. so i factory reverted back to 3.5 december release. so right now the unit is in clean state no mods.

McDudu I will reconfirm with the engineer next Monday
