dudu-lai Can be connected to carplay via USB C

@Wass You have your answer here. Please read the above posts.

@Wass
Also: your phone will not charge faster on USB-C than on USB-A. Both are very low outputs.
Buy a 12V usb-hub and insert it between one of your uSB-ports and your phone. That will charge faster.
Or simply use Carplay wireless and load your phone via a cigarette heater plug (and buy a good one. Cheap ones give a lot of interference and may not load fast either)

surfer63 Can you please show me a picture or a url for the 12V usb-hub you mentioned because I didn’t know the type you mean

Is there a way to automatically start Carlink when I turn the ignition on and the unit wakes up from sleep?

If it is only to load your phone quickly, you can use this
      or this.
but these are only (fast) loading USB-hubs.

When it comes to extending/splitting one of the unit USB cables and transmitting data, like for AA or CarPlay, it gets terribly difficult. In that case your need a USB hub with input and output, or a bi-directional USB-hub.
5 years ago I purchased an USB-hub with one input and two output cables and 12V powered, but I can't find it anymore. I can't find any like those anymore.

I used that on my PX5, years ago. Now I only use my phone wirelessly and power it via a cigarette heater plug (my 3rd plug as the previous two gave a lot of interference)

dudulover someone mentioned you can do that via Task. Like iOS Automation.

Tbui You mean Tasker? Just want to make sure it works before buying it.

          Like this directly in dudu.

dudulover Settings/other/task. Set a task there like in the picture above

dudu-lai I tried more than 100 times actually wired Carplay not working except with the 4 pin port, i tried with the 6 pin the both usb ports but not working , also i tried with the usb c but not working, so i have only to choices, the first one that i use the wireless connection and that is very unstable connection and i can’t use the hotspot , the second choice that i use usb port 4 pin and that is very bad because my phone battery is decreasing because of the very poor charging.

Wass We tested if the USB C and 4P USB ports could connect to the carplay.
The charging speed is the same for both ports.

            • Wass replied to this.

dudu-lai ok i will wait for your testing , also Is there any way to make the charging faster ?

Wass Both USB C and 4P USB can be connected to the carplay. the USB output is 5V and 2A, there is no faster way to do this!

dudu-lai That is not correct on my unit (Dudu 7)
Only 4 pin usb can connect to CarPlay
Usb C will never connect to CarPlay

Wass Did you replace the USB-C harness for testing?

                      • Edited

dudu-lai I used 3 cables i tried with extension also i tried to connect it directly but same no carplay , the same cable i use it with 4 pin it works great , if i connect the usb c plug the phone charge and the hotspot work except the CarPlay

                        Wass

Coming back to your initial question: "I have a problem that if connect my phone via wireless sometimes not connecting and sometimes there a lag, so i try to use USB ....."
Some releases ago, there were issues with wireless Apple CarPlay connection. These issues are now solved.
If you first tried wireless, then why don't you go back to wireless?

Secondly: 6-pin USB only expands on 4-pin USB by adding redundancy.
What kind of iphone do you have? Iphone 15 and newer have USB-C. older iphones don't. There are issues with iphone cables going from 4-pin or 6-pin USB to the Apple lightning connector as some (cheaper) adapters have removed pin 3, pin 2-3 and or ping 6-7. These cheaper cables give issues with 6-pin USB.
                        Please check that.

That you tested 3 different cables doesn't mean much if they were all the same cheap cable. Please let us know.

surfer63 I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and with the factory apple cable, I cannot connect to wired CarPlay(not that I would ever use it with head unit)ether. Not sure why someone would want to use that low res thing anyway
