  • Canbus error VW PQ (etc) SWC Voice Assistant Button

[1] Describe in detail the error you encountered.

Voice assistant button for VW should be mapped to voice assistant rather than mute, as currently happens with Raise protocol box (Hiworld does this better and maps to voice assistant - I tested that with a Hiworld protocol box).

Note: Same behaviour occurs, if I select alternative PQ protocols that work on my 2018 VW T6, eg VW Polo 2018 or some Audi A3, TT, A4, etc. It also happens, if I select slightly incompatible protocols that seem to be based on MQB (newer Golf etc) - these will eg not show door status but still go on mute when hitting SWC Voice Control button.

[2] Provide a screenshot of the system information and take a picture of the system information in the pop-up window by long-pressing on the top-left image for 3 seconds in “Car Settings”-“About”.

[3] Is it possible to reproduce the error and what are the steps to reproduce the error?

Yes, 100% reproducible as shown in video.

I've also tried to update car lists etc but DUDU AppStore does nothing when I click on update (aktualisieren) in this window:

Help appreciated, this is an annoying bug and sadly, DUDUOS doesn't allow me to do any key study on Canbus SWC.

    Yes, the same for me

      @dudu-lai this is the same model year 2019 (built Dec 2018) VW T6 (PQ25 platform). @Bettman66 has a VW Touran I think (PQ35 as Golf V if older, MQB as Golf VII if newer).

          gismo The engineers notified us of the need to upgrade the protocol box and I would like to post the software on the forums, but am concerned that uninformed users or other automotive users may download the upgrade by mistake and cause CANBUS to fail. Do you use Telegram or WeChat? I will send you the software via private message

              If you have an update for the Hiworld VWFA.20 box also, I could test that as well (it has other errors but has a 2019 firmware). But normally I use the Raise box so that's more important.

                @dudu-lai solved this by way of providing a Raise Canbox firmware update.

                Hi @dudu-lai , i've also the Problem that the voice assistant is mapped to mute. Is there a solution like an updated firmware for my raise protocol box? My Car is also VW T6 built in 2018...

                  What are the differences between Canbus VW-RZ-08 and G-RZ-VW58? I have RZ-08, but i see on the pictures with Software Info, that RZ-VW58 is shown as RZ-08, are they the same Canbuses?

                  Thanks, this work for this issue. I had others also, that the climate control is not showed if I do changes on it.... for that i will open other threads.

                      your application is for carlink, not for climate control... After installation my android auto has connected... should be nothing to do with that...?

                        I tried to update CANBUS with your file, but after selecting it from HU memory and clicking START, I only see a warning, I confirm and nothing happens. I saw on various forums that the update is done from USB memory, not internal, but when selecting the file, there is no option to select USB. Is this update file for all Raise G-RZ-VW58? This is my version.

                                dudu-lai i can't update with your file, nothing happens after start, only warning, i click OK, then nothing.

                                    i have a similar issue where the voice button on the steering wheel is not working, this should engage google assistant , it works only while in the home page dudu7 but in android auto is not launching the assistant, instead it is activating on my phone. any ideas on how to change this behavior so the assistant activates on the headunit instead?
