I have tried it both on and off, makes no difference. What SHOULD it be set to?

AP auto on Should be set to off state.
What you are doing Is the DUDU7 automatically turn on the hotspot as long as the phone is connected to the DUDU7's bluetooth?

DUDU7 will not turn on the hotspot automatically when Bluetooth is not connected?

I am still trying to work out exactly when Dudu hotspot is turned on automatically. But that is the cause of all my problems.

Can I ask - under what conditions will dudu7 turn on its hotspot automatically? What could do that?

Please check your own settings to see if you have turned on this feature, if you have turned on this feature, it will automatically turn on the wifi hotspot!

I checked that setting and it is off.

So I spent more time trying to solve problem.

1) phone and dudu paired with bluetooth.
2) turn dudu hotspot off and dudu wifi on
3) turn off iPhone bluetooth
4) turn on iphone bluetooth, when it connects dudu turns on its hotspot and turns off wifi *
5) turn dudu hotspot off, dudu wifi on, settings stay correct
6) turn off car, turn on car, dudu boots up, connects to Bluetooth iphone again and turns dudu hotspot on and dudu wifi off again 😡

note, carplay IS NOT ON, AP IS OFF.

This is all related to the Bluetooth connection. Can you make an option to NEVER TURN ON DUDU HOTSPOT?

I cannot find another way to have Bluetooth and wifi connected at same time.

Please take a picture of your system information and upload it here, Settings - About - Press and hold the picture in the upper left corner.
Please try other cell phone connection bluetooth there is no such problem

I have tried an older iPhone I had. Bluetooth pairing is still hit and miss, but when it does connect then the Dudu hotspot always turns on automatically, and turns off wifi.

Please make hotspot not turn on!

Please open System Update APP-More Updates-Upgrade the Bluetooth firmware to the latest.
And then test whether it can solve this problem, if it still can't be solved Please use the following method to help us catch ylog

I did what you said, updated Bluetooth firmware and…..it seems to work ok now! Reliable Bluetooth connection without hotspot turning on. So thank you very much!

I have to ask though, why you didn’t tell me to do this first, as you told me to try so many other things before doing a firmware update 🤷‍♂️
