  • Dudu7 and iPhone 16

turn on personal hotspot on the phone, and connect dudu7 wifi to it. It works. annoyingly I have to go back to the personal hotspot screen each time I get in the car, otherwise it won’t connect. A quick google search tells me this is an iOS issue, not Dudu. So I’ll have to live with that.

However, I do want to connect dudu7 to Bluetooth so I can use hands free calling. When I turn on Bluetooth and connect to phone do this dudu7 inexplicably turns on its own WiFi hotspot and turns off WiFi connection to the phone. So I have no internet if I have a Bluetooth connection. Delete Bluetooth pairing and I can go back to having WiFi, connect Bluetooth and no WiFi.

Does this sound familiar or am I missing something?

    Please open carlink2.0 of DUDU7 to check if the auto connect switch is turned on?
    If it is on, please turn it off and try again.

      I think I’ve found a solution, not that it makes sense.

      If I connect Bluetooth from Dudu to iPhone, Dudu WiFi turns itself off and Dudu hotspot turns on. Nothing I do changes this situation. It always wants the Dudu hotspot on.

      However, if I connect Bluetooth from iPhone to Dudu then the above does not happen, and I can have a Bluetooth connection to my phone and use the phone personal hotspot at same time.

      I wonder why….

      Can you see if the DUDU7 automatically turns on the hotspot after connecting to bluetooth is caused by connecting to carplay?

        It does not connect to CarPlay, as I have CarPlay turned off.

              So you're saying that connecting to your iPhone's bluetooth with your dudu7 automatically opens the hotspot, and on the other hand, connecting to your dudu7 with your iPhone, everything works fine, right?

              Actually today my method stopped working. 😡

              All I want to do is have my iPhone as a hotspot for internet, Dudu connected to the iPhone WiFi AND iPhone Bluetooth (so I can use the phone functions).

              But this does not seem possible. Dudu always turns off wifi and turns on its own hotspot. Trying to work out what is happening is driving me mad 😠

              I have tried it both on and off, makes no difference. What SHOULD it be set to?

              AP auto on Should be set to off state.
              What you are doing Is the DUDU7 automatically turn on the hotspot as long as the phone is connected to the DUDU7's bluetooth?

              DUDU7 will not turn on the hotspot automatically when Bluetooth is not connected?

              I am still trying to work out exactly when Dudu hotspot is turned on automatically. But that is the cause of all my problems.

              Can I ask - under what conditions will dudu7 turn on its hotspot automatically? What could do that?

              Did you see the videos I posted that showed it turning on?

              Please check your own settings to see if you have turned on this feature, if you have turned on this feature, it will automatically turn on the wifi hotspot!

              I checked that setting and it is off.

              So I spent more time trying to solve problem.

              1) phone and dudu paired with bluetooth.
              2) turn dudu hotspot off and dudu wifi on
              3) turn off iPhone bluetooth
              4) turn on iphone bluetooth, when it connects dudu turns on its hotspot and turns off wifi *
              5) turn dudu hotspot off, dudu wifi on, settings stay correct
              6) turn off car, turn on car, dudu boots up, connects to Bluetooth iphone again and turns dudu hotspot on and dudu wifi off again 😡

              • note, carplay IS NOT ON, AP IS OFF.

              This is all related to the Bluetooth connection. Can you make an option to NEVER TURN ON DUDU HOTSPOT?

              I cannot find another way to have Bluetooth and wifi connected at same time.

                I have tried an older iPhone I had. Bluetooth pairing is still hit and miss, but when it does connect then the Dudu hotspot always turns on automatically, and turns off wifi.

                Please make hotspot not turn on!

                  Please open System Update APP-More Updates-Upgrade the Bluetooth firmware to the latest.
