Nissan Pathfinder harness+canbus issues

Canbus box does receive messages from both canbus lines. It shows for example door statuses (I suspect they are sent via line V_CAN) and other controls (volume, etc.) also work and they are connected to second line M_CAN.
I've written it before. I'll try to record a video...

In my opinion the problem lies in the incorrect protocol. I think log file could help us to nail it down. Could you guide me how to configure the unit and obtain these log files?

Before installation A/C worked without any problems and data was displayed on OEM screen. After installation... you saw on the video. It seems to me that original unit somwhow mediates communication between the buttons and the air conditioning controller.

As for video of OEM screen, I don't have it... it requires installing OEM unit again 😐

Wait... at the beginning of my video it is shown that other controls work. You can see that volume, map button, settings button work... they are connected to the same can line (M_CAN) as A/C buttons...

I have a different android head unit (12" Tesla style) but perhaps I can help. When you removed your original screen, did you remove the AC control box from the back? There are 2 harnesses there (I believe black and blue) that plug into the control module.
So I removed the control module from the original screen and plugged those 2 harnesses back into the control module( I just tucked it in) and everything worked!!!
Threw me for a loop for quite a while but finally got it. Point is that I originally thought the black control module was part of the screen but it wasn't. BTW, the 2 harnesses I am referring to have what I would describe as levers on them.

Wildpjw Thank for the info, but it is not the case. My A/C controller is left connected inside the dashboard. Unfortunately the problem lies somewhere else 😐

I could have been wrong... as I cannot find any log files I started analyzing canbus output on the screen. And it turned out that A/C panel buttons/knobs does not give any feedback. While pressing other buttons shows canbus messages.
So I went back to the documentation and one thing catched my attention:

Could it be that these buttons are controlled differently than the rest? My harness doesn't have the "H" connector. Could someone point me to the place where I can find more information about it?
I cannot find more information about this "H" connector in this documentation.

I don't want to surrender... I'll try to win this uneven fight 😉

After some reconsideration I think that it is indeed a protocol issue. I think this "H" connector is for vertical (tesla style) units, which replace original A/C panel buttons/knobs. In my situation the only way to use these buttons is canbus. Later I'll upload a video showing canbus output when other console buttons are pressed.

Could someone with a greater knowledge tell me if Raise can box filters bus messages? Is there any way to get all raw messages from the bus (without any other external hardware)?
Can someone put me in touch with the technical person who is responsible for this device and cables?

Just send me all schematics, ie. Harness pinout, raise canbus decoder pinouts. Whatever you have regarding this and I will sift through and compare to my setup. The only thing not working on mine is rear defrost and airbag light.....both of which I can live without.
My background is electronic engineering but it is very difficult to assist if I don't have documentation.

Guys @dudu-lai, @DUDU-Meng can someone help me with this. Summer is comming and my A/C is stuck at 23C and windshield defroster 😐 Here is a video showing all buttons work (giving canbus feedback) except A/C: canbus buttons.

Please tell me if vehicle settings are okay? Because when I look at these settings in other cars, they are much more complex. Is my car so poorly supported?

I've also read somewhere (XDA forum) that updating MCU and/or canbus decoder should/could be done. Is this possible and could it be helpful?

And what about canbus log files? Is something broken? Because they are not created in my unit. Maybe there will be more information about my issue...

kryzys Bro, I'm sorry I don't have a better idea in terms of displaying the AC info. Maybe the cables you are using are not suitable for your car as there are a lot of wiring harnesses that are wrong and you went through a lot of trouble to get them corrected.
The CANBUS may be able to get the A/C info but it won't affect the A/C because the car has a physical button that controls the A/C, if that button doesn't control the A/C at all, remove the CANBUS box and try it. It could be something else.

dudu-lai A/C and other media buttons are connected by the same wires (M_CAN). As part of them work, so I think this is a protocol or some settings issue. What about my other questions:

MCU / canbus box update - could it help? Is MCU firmware somehow related to canbus?
Canbus log files? How to get these logs?
My Vehicle settings - could someone assure me that they are correct?
Is there any possibility to contact someone from Raise to resolve these issues.

kryzys You have recorded CANBUS logs before, and there is no data for air conditioning information
MCU has nothing to do with it, if you have the CANBUS upgrade file, you can try to upgrade it

dudu-lai I've recorder only screen output, I cannot find any files. I do not know if there are more information in these files than on the screen. I was looking for canBusALog directory...
And if we can somehow sniff all canbus messages, not only these supported by canbus box. I suspect that A/C messages are somehow not supported. That is why I would like to contact with someone from Raise... could you help me with it?

kryzys The CANBUSlog catalog doesn't have any more information, just screen-scrolling data presented in a different way

Right now I'm looking for some can bus messages sniffer, to debug M_CAN (media can in my car) and find right messages to control my A/C. It would be easier if I could catch the whole communication right in my headunit.

Are you trying to use a CAN data collector? When it is connected to the car CAN bus there will be very much other information interfering with your ability to find the correct AC ID, which is very time and effort intensive, which is difficult.

dudu-lai I know that there will be a ton of other messages flowing in the bus. But I do not want to surrender. I like your headunit VERY MUCH and I want to make it work... for me and other Pathfinder users 😉

dudu-lai I have logs for all A/C buttons and CAN communication in my car, I analyzed them a bit and I think I have CAN messages for A/C buttons that do not work with my CANbus decoder. Please tell me who should I contact to solve the remaining problems?
