It is not possible that your car doesn' t have CANbus.
CANbus is one of five protocols in OBD-II
2001: The European Union makes EOBD mandatory for all gasoline (petrol) vehicles sold in the European Union, starting in MY2001 (see European emission standards Directive 98/69/EC).
2003: The European Union makes EOBD mandatory for all diesel vehicles sold in the European Union
2008: All cars sold in the United States are required to use the ISO 15765-4 signaling standard (a variant of the Controller Area Network (CAN) bus).

See also ISO 15765-4.3:2001 “Road Vehicles-Diagnostics on Controller Area Network (CAN)—Part 4: Requirements for emission-related systems”, (December 14, 2001)

So, by law, worldwide, every car has to have CANbus for control of emissions.
Actually your car does not have "a" canbus, Most cars have 5-9 CANbuses connected to the several systems in the car.

What you proablably mean is that you ordered a unit without CANbus decoder.

Hi although you're replying to @obelix80
Your are correct that all cars have obd2 protocol connection nowadays

What we mean here is newer cars have a connection to the car radio that make it (smart) by getting some information from other systems

Like if the door is open or if the head light is turned on and many more
So need to decode the signal
So you use a canbus decoder

    Unfortunately some economy older
Japanese - Korean cars think 2015 and older do not have that

And use simple ISO radio connections that not communicating with car at this level

My car came originally with an aftermarket style one din stereo

      OK. I understand.
Your car simply does not have the CANbus Hi Lo wires (and some more) connected into the ISO plug, or si it seems.

Is it not possible via Hyundai or some other source to get an extended ISO plug?

        surfer63
I can't comment about the other guy

        But for me
        Adapter harness is pluged in
        and have the prober connection

And it communicating with head unit

Also i have used an older unit and it works fine there

My only problem with this unit
Is after programming the key for the steering wheel
        They work fine
until reboot or restart or deep sleep
        They stop working

For now i have installed a Bluetooth remote control on the steering wheel that i got from dudu

I hope they can fix the issue

Abogrhen well some hyundai ix35 got canbus depending what originaly came headunit...some units come with biger screens, navigation, revrsecameras etc...my were simple fm radio, cd unit and bluetooth conection for phone...so you think it cant show without canbus decoder

        surfer63

this is cable foe my car

          obelix80
I do understand now. Your cable only contains the radio conection. It is not a complete ISO harness for all the other functionality.

Could this work for your ix35?

but im not sure, i asked seller, and every seller i asked said to me to send him picture of my original car radio unit, and when i send him he said that they dont have canbus decoder for my car...so i find it weird....dont know why it is importanat original car headunit

              obelix80
Did you ask your Hyundai dealer if there is a complete ISO harness available?
There are also many hyundai forums and clubs on the internet. Maybe in your own language/country. Did you ask there if users know about a more complete ISO harness?

If I turn off the device completely (turn off the ignition and remove the battery), will the device forget these settings?

Kriss Not necessarily. Depends on your vehicle, canbus/no canbus. These are some exceptional cases. If your car/head unit uses a can us decoder this sould not be the case. I don't know what to say about disconnecting the battery.

                Abogrhen
It would be worth checking to see if the ignition and battery wires are not interchanged at the ISO connector (yellow and red).

                MihaiFlorin
No CanBus. One Sony wired remote connects to Key1.
For me, it differs in that it only forgets the long button function. The short key function remains.

                Kriss
No. The settings are stored in the app database on internal memory (on "disk"). That is how it works on Android.
If you do a firmware flash with complete wipe (twipe_all, twipe_data or format_data), you will lose your settings.

                  surfer63
According to them, only the functions of the secondary button (long press) are not loaded from the flash.

Car: Kia Ceed 2013 JD (Non Canbus).

Problem: Long press volume + or - to change several clicks stop working after restart.
Steering wheel Volume+ and Volume- always work for a single click volume change.

If I learn and set it to:
                  Speaker+ 69, Speaker- 63
                  All ok.

Next time, single step work, but not long press. So I set:
                  Speaker+ 63, Speaker- 67

Next time, single step work, but not long press. So I set:
                  Speaker+ 69, Speaker- 63

Next time, single step work, but not long press. So I set:
                  Speaker+ 70, Speaker- 69

So almost always every time I have to re-learn the keys.
Steering wheel control working ok with the the original radio.

Should I make a thread under BUG REPORT instead of here?
I also have problem that the radio not stay in sleep. After say 8 hours or a day, it always start by booting (Should I make another thread about that)? How long is it set to stay in sleep?
I don't know if it can have effect on the steering wheel control.

Yesterday when I came to car.

It booted up from start. Long press worked. - All ok for that day

I can confirm that if the DUDU7 device is disconnected from the power supply (yellow cable), the long button presses no longer work.
They are still there in the settings. If you re-learn the long button press, it works again. But I think that you don't completely disconnect the HU from the battery in the car, so this is just a small error.

                  11 days later
                  2 months later

I'm also experiencing this issue with long-press volume keys on my Hyundai i30.

When I learn the Vol+ or Vol- keys, I can do single step volume or long-press the keys for multi-step volume control.
After a day or two I can only do single step volume, long-pressing for multi-step control stops working.

If I re-learn the SWC then it is working again until the next day or two, it stops again.

aKelso Try using a CANBUS bus box to see if that solves the problem.
