  • Update problem?

Hi
Just got Dudu7 unit, its on version 241001 and it seems newest is 241008 ota says im already at newest, so tried download version 241008 manually, but then i get this message?

picasso1850 wouldnt that be a test? And it says i have to be on 241008 before installing it 😅

Raglodbr1 I guess you could call it an an active beta, but the Dudu team is really good with quickly rolling out updates to them if any unknown stability issues crop up with these releases.... I know of no limitation that would keep you from installing latest 24118 version over the current version in a clean install, but I am not an expert in dudu7.

      picasso1850 i give it a try

picasso1850 got exact same message with that file 🥲

Raglodbr1 See these two links below for step by step and faq. Let me know if still trouble after you check off the following steps and links - head to Settings > Vehicle > Built-in App > Appstore and enable the "Beta App Access" toggle.

These are beta versions. Beta versions can only be installed by users who are registered as beta user.
That is why you get the cryptic error "update verification failed". Especially the 2nd part makes it even more cryptic..
It doesn't say anything about the firmware not being correct. It says that your id is verified and verification failed.
One of those translations that really needs to be corrected.

surfer63 I had the same error on my DUDU7 when I tried to update using the OTA app in offline mode and browsed to the downloaded archive. But it worked fine when I tried it old school: unpack archive to USB stick, delete updatecfg.txt, plug USB stick into radio, confirm popup.

picasso1850 still got it after doing that, but did it the old fyt way by Unpack to usb, that worked

              Yes, that is correct.
The OTA process runs via the OTAQ updater from Dudu, which checks the registered id.

The "old school" method where you unpack it to USB and remove the updatecfg.txt is using the standard rkupdate and lsec6318update from FYT via the recovery. That always works.
But of course you do get the "first time startup wizard", which you do not get when using the offline OTA method.

I don't remember seeing that come up. Had deleted updatecfg.txt anyway. But even if it does, it will have remembered the settings so not much time loss 😉

surfer63 Actually i didnt get the first time wizard 😅
                But updated it is 🙂
