  • v3.5 beta 241118: Radar screen activated erratically

[1] Radar screen comes up at standstill or low speed without radar being active.
Example:

Screen is removed automatically once car goes faster. Error not present in 241008 OTA. Radar works normally. Also see https://forum.dudu-auto.com/d/418-update-241118-preview-and-early-access-to-upcoming-features-in-duddos-35/39 which has been confirmed by other user.
[2] System info

[3] Bug can be reproduced. Conditions: go to standstill or near standstill but do not activate radar, wait. If screen pops up, close it (X) - it will soon reappear. Do not close but start driving faster, it will close automatically. Other user replied to https://forum.dudu-auto.com/d/418-update-241118-preview-and-early-access-to-upcoming-features-in-duddos-35/39 and sees the same.

20 days later

With the new update from 11.12.2024 the error has disappeared again, thanks to the developers

It's become better but still comes up erratically, if the car stops - i.e. without the radar actually being active. But not as often as it did in 241118.

    gismo ,
Ok that may be, I only tested for 10 minutes

Was at the airport today and was able to reproduce the error.
    Video

Same symptom here. Will try and do a video including Canbus info tomorrow, not sure if Canbus info can be seen when radar screen comes up though...

      I am on the 3.5 pre-release (241211-2) with the 4 apk upgrades from 13 Dec (base_ls7870_1.001706_12-13_220716.apk, carui_ls7870_1.002044_12-13_221630.apk, DuduLauncherPro7870_1.013032.apk, navBar_7870_1.002142_12-13_173144.apk).
CANbus (last line): RZC (Raise) - Volkswagen - Octavia (2097312), which "translates" in the settings to Skoda Octavia 2105-2019.

I did have this radar image as well, but not for the last 4-5 short drives on the 241211, which you also show above.

I just tested again in front of the car garage with the engine on and the sensor window is displayed irregularly between 5-90 seconds.

Are you on the 241211 version or on the 241211-2 version (which is identical to the 3.5 pre-release of 12 Dec which therefore also shows 241211)?

And on top of this 3.5 pre-release (241211-2) I also have 4 updated APKs released áfter the 13 Dec pre-release.

Edit: If you look at your Version Information screenshot and mine, you can also see that my navbar, dudu-server, dud-launcher-pro and carui is newer.

          surfer63 ,
Where can I download the new version and the apk ? They are not displayed in the app store.

          surfer63 ,
          I have this version installed.

Same version here and no newer apks.

Bettman66 The video is watched, unfortunately there is no CANBUS log data.

dudu-lai ok, now with canbus info https://drive.google.com/file/d/10npItsmZD9cYEu4dtJKJ4r8Q4YHOrBl0/view?usp=drivesdk

To show that radar is actually inactive and often car not even moving (and not in reverse) - the button in this video would always light when radar is active but remains unlit: https://drive.google.com/file/d/10nfJhnsqMh9Hd41r60yO9uaFZo3UwAYS/view?usp=drivesdk

            My current system info:

            I have this Raise adapter

@dudu-lai have you seen the video / canbus screen record?

gismo I watched the video and am going to submit it to an engineer for analysis
What model and year was your car manufactured and is it equipped with a front radar?

dudu-lai it's a MY 2019 VW T6 Caravelle (on PQ because Caravelle protocol is broken in Raise and Hiworld). It has a front radar also but that only activates together with the rear radar. So either if you put the car in reverse (following that it stays on also when going forward and deactivates again at around 10 km/h) or manually by pushing the button. It doesn't activate by just approaching something going forward.

FYI as stated in the first post, the stable version 241008 handled the radar correctly, the bug was added in 241118 and persists (but shows less often) in 241211.

Edit: If relevant to engineers - Model year 2019 (built Dec 2018) VW T6 uses the PQ25 platform. @Bettman66 has a VW Touran I think (PQ35 as Golf V if older, MQB as Golf VII if newer).
