• DUDU OS
  • Best OBDII?

gismo I have the OBDLIinkMX+ that has a button and a cheap Amazon elm327 ad neither of them work

a month later

dudu-langzi was there an update to this? did any of the devs do anything to get some of the foreign ODBs working? I specifically want the OBDlink SX to work since it's the most affordable usb odb2 scanner i've found in the US, and wanted the fastest updates compared to bluetooth. it works with torque for anyone reading this, just not natively with the OS

I tried 3 different ones and have yet to get any to work. I can't even get them to work in torque

I am wanting a OBDII to work with VAGDPF thats installed on the DuDu 7 but have tried three different ones but none work and still looking.

They definitely need to work on this. Mekede / Duduauto needs to have their own OBDII unit or a vetted one that works correctly within the OS.

La verdad es que no aporta la marca mucha información no solución. Yo ya he probado dos modelos distintos y ninguno conecta. Además el menú para conectarlo en el Dudu 7 es muy confuso, no sabés cuál elegir.

You can use ALL OBD2 adapters wich name is OBDII.
I tried Vlinker MC+ and icar pro. No luck.
Then tried some cheap adapters thst came with other head units and they are working.
I would love to use the Vlinker adapters and maybe it will work in the future

JhonnyD Are they working directly within the OS or are they just working in Aps like Torque?

eurban I could see water temp and how much fuel is in the tank, shown in the status bar.
So it is working with the OS.
Tomorrow i will try what else i can see.

JhonnyD are you searching for the bluetooth reader in the main android settings, or going in to the Dudu vehicle settings and telling it there that you are using an OBDII reader? I have tried both ways with 3 different dongles, and nothing works for me, in Torque (pro) or the Dudu software itself.

When I try to connect via the Android Bluetooth Settings, it sees the adapters, but then says to ender "0000" in to the pairing page, but the head unit never goes any further. There is no pairing spot that I can enter any code. I can not enter "0000" anywhere so that way doesn't work, for me anyway.

Most times the code is 1234
To change it go to settings/more features/internal app/telephone change pairing password to 1234.
Then go to device connection/obd/choose ELM_327 then choose adapter. You should see OBDII
If everything is alright it should pair

JhonnyD Thank you, I'll give it a try, I appreciate it.

JhonnyD where do you change the name to OBDII? In android settings or in Dudu device settings?

I didn't get mine to work in Dudu, but I did get it working now in Torque, which really is mostly what I wanted. The OBD settings in the Dudu menus will not recognize the adapter, doesn't see it at all.

johnyfalco I use VAG-DPF with vLinker MC+ without any problems and other adapters should also work. Pair through the Android settings.
The compatibility issue discussed here is only affecting the internal functions included in DuduOS, not 3rd party apps installed on the device.

JhonnyD that info comes through the Canbus though and I see it even though I use a vLinker or if I pull it 😉

gismo My car has no canbus connected. So i need or want to see some informations via OBD.
And i think 90% of people here that asks have trouble binding it to the head unit.
And maybe you can show a video how you connect your Vlinker.
If you want to use a OBD2 adapter with DUDU it has to be named OBDII.
And i know how to use ALL OBD2 adapters with Torque or whatever.
I also asked DUDUAUTO if they could speak to a programmer who made a program called SZViewer. It even can show TPMS data trough OBD on Android, Windows and Linux.
But i have to learn that you not always get an answer.

I bought this and works on my dudu7…
I didn’t connect it in android Bluetooth menu but in setup-device-obd

              15 days later

This one works with DUDU7 and shows me coolant watertemp and fuel amount in the statusbar:

No special setup required, paired in DUDUOS Settings.
              And for a good price.

It just should have the name OBDII in the list of Bluetooth devices.
You can get all those adapters to work with DUDU OS.
