• DUDU OS
  • Best OBDII?

USB is the fastest, however I don't think supported in Dudu (yet?)

From my experience the best, fastest and most reliable is genuine OBDLink LX (Bluetooth) and SX (USB).

The SX being USB means that torque pro connects everytime, no issue. It is the fastest of any OBD interface.

Which OBD category must be set in the OBD settings for the OBDLink LX?

Is there a list of supported OBD dongles? It would be very helpful...

rille I ordered XTool ODB2, but it is not arrived yet.
I will share the details, and if it is compatible with the OS when I get.

    10 days later

I tried vLinker MC+ and FS, both doesn't connect. But they work without problems with Car Scanner App installed at the DUDU7. Why are they not supported directly? I can choose ELM327 in the Devices -> OBD menu but it doesn't work. And no list with working dongles. It's annoying and in this way a useless feature.

I hope receiving the XTool obd this week, I will try it and post the feedback.
      Thanks for your feedback.

      EML327Can be used

dudu-langzi How? And which ELM327 dongles are working? Bluetooth BLE, Classic Bluetooth?

rille I saw some posted on telegram that recommended Kuulaa odb2, and they claim it is working with DUDU OS.
But I am not sure about.

          I read here (https://www.carscanner.info/choosing-obdii-adapter/):

          Never buy this “bad” adapters:
          ...
          Adapters of brand “KUULAA”.
          ...

I would be nice to have the coolant temp in the status bar. So I have to start an extra app (Car Scanner). But Car Scanner can much more (e.g. oil temp).

rille eml327 obd After plugging in the car OBD interface, find the peripheral, OBD, in the desktop launcher settings, and then select Bluetooth binding.

I did it this way, it doesn't work. The OBD dongle is listed but it doesn't connect. I tested with vLinker MC+ and iCar Pro 2S, both support Bluetooth LE. You should have a list with working devices... It's the same as with the CAN adapters. No list which adapter is working and the one suggested by support chat is also crap.

Same for me. Previously on the 7862 unit, and now on the dudu7 unit.
The elm327 is there, it is found by BT, but I simply cannot pair it. It works fine with my phone and previous 2 phones.

It works with Car Scanner installed at the DUDU7. But the integrated OBD feature doesn't work.

elm327 working when I connect to bluetooth in the android settings (not BLE) for 3rd party apps, but it doesn't work in DUDU OS.

To get it working in the OS I had to connect it through the OS settings in the ODB section, but then it doesn't work with 3rd party apps.

It's normal that the OBD dongle can be used by only one software. Did you get your dongle (which one is it?) to work so you can display sensor values from OBD in the status bar or in the widget?

My vGate vLinker MC+ had no problems getting paired via Android BT settings and I can use it on DUDU7 just the same way I used it on my previous FYT7862 unit: Mainly an app to monitor the DPF (VAGDPF) and secondly Carscanner. I have not tried to use it with the internal DUDU7 OBD stuff because i) I'm concerned that it would interfere with the above apps (I always need to disconnect one to use the other so afraid that DUDU just blocks other apps) and ii) DUDU7's OBD functionality seems rather basic (generic OBDII rather than car specific protocols) so not sure as regards benefit - fuel consumption etc is available in the car anyway. If DUDU7 could read/interpret the status of VW group DPFs incl. regeneration and gear box / clutch temperatures then I would sunset the other apps 😉

I got the KUULAA OBDII. It is connected to the DUDU OS, but there is no data showing in the status bar or in vehicle information app. I test it with a third party app, and it works fine.
My car is 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid.
              Head unit 13” FYT.
              OS DUDU 7862 V240927.

Kindly, if someone has a solution for this issue please share it.

ahmedjassm I have Corolla Hybrid and the only data that I get is cooling liquid temp and battery (12v) voltage.

I am getting the battery voltage even without the OBDII.
I think it is measured by the head unit, not sure.
