  • Not able to connect Bluetooth OBD (beta 14)

DUDU-HUANG I would like to connect a thermometer.. obd.. or something else to Bluetooth. in the launcher it does not see any device. other programs see it. is it possible to modify the Bluetooth setting for other devices without DuduOS? if so, can I ask for more detailed instructions on how to do it. I have only installed dudu luncher. My device is junsun v1 plus 8/256.

Ok thank you. I have already seen this instruction. However, I have a problem as in the picture. I do not see any Bluetooth device. My device list is empty. This goes for both the xiaomi thermometer and OBD devices. The phone detects the devices. dudu luncher does not detect.

caolz same... I choose ELM327, but when try to search, the list is empty

I also facing same problem.. my obd2 vgate elm327 could not be found in dudu OS... but when connect to my phone it working perfectly just fine..

Because it has to have OBD2 as name. Else DUDU does not show it and can't connect to.

              Try Setup>Devices>OBD>OBD Settings>OBD Category: ELM_327

              hafiz_tahir
              Setup>Devices>OBD>OBD Settings>OBD Category: ELM_327
If you still cannot find your OBD device, it may indeed not support this model of OBD device.

Make a list of supported OBD dongles! I tested 3 dongles, none worked. ELM327 is a standard so it should be no problem to support all ELM327 dongles. It looks like a cool feature but doesn't work...

                It ist not just ELM327.

It has to be named OBD2 or OBDII. Or else you can not pair it.

You can try with your phone how the OBD dongle is named because you can pair everything with a phone, even nameless devices.

                Hi guys,

I may have a solution for your problem. First, you have to tell what device you have. My solution was tested for 7862.

                1. Check with explorer /fem/app/ config.txt what value has in line sys.fyt.bluetooth. If you have it set to 0, then proceed to next step
                2. Get script for modifying bluetooth mod, is somewherw in the forum
                3. Modify lsec7862.sh and write value of 1 at the end of the line beginning with “sed -e ….
                4. Put everything along with config.txt on a clean pendrive and flash it.
I had same problem, my blootooth device list was empty despite selecting elm327 category.

                Hope this helps,
                Cheers

Can you find OBD devices in your phone's Bluetooth device list?
Setup>System>Bluetooth, can OBD devices be found here?

                9 days later

Well, if the OBD dongle has to be named OBDII, wouldn't be better to just remove this name filter from the device selection dialog? This will enable us to at least try some other and better dongles than those most and worst generic ones...

Yes, this a recurring issue, ELM OBD is not recognized and the headunit will not connect to it.
I'll be happy to share any screenshot or video of the same.

@YAOXILONG Will you be able to provide some kind of fix for this naming convention required for OBD dongles?

Subject: Urgent Request for Software Update to Resolve Bluetooth Connection Issues with OBD2 Adapter and DUDU7 Android Headunit

                Dear Sir/Madam,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to request urgent assistance with an issue regarding the OBD2 adapter, which fails to connect via Bluetooth to my DUDU7 Android Headunit. Despite multiple attempts and the use of various software solutions, a successful connection could not be established. I would like to detail the problem based on the information and discussions I have found on the DUDUAUTO forum.

                Problem Description:

Compatibility Issues: Several users on the forum report difficulties with the compatibility of the OBD2 adapter and the DUDU7 head unit. Specifically, the ELM327 BT OBD adapter does not seem to communicate properly with the vehicle's ECU, leading to connection issues.

Bluetooth Connection Problems: Some users are experiencing difficulties connecting the adapter via Bluetooth. This could be due to software or hardware incompatibilities. Despite various attempts and applying recommended solutions from the forum, such as resetting Bluetooth settings and using different apps, the issue remains unresolved.

Required Software Update: Given the widespread Bluetooth connection problems and numerous reports on the forum, it appears that a software update is necessary to ensure compatibility and connection stability. Such an update could significantly improve the interoperability between the OBD2 adapter and the DUDU7 head unit.

                Requested Assistance:

Therefore, I kindly request that you develop and provide an appropriate software update to address these Bluetooth connection issues. It would be extremely helpful if you could offer specific instructions or alternative solutions to ensure Bluetooth connectivity. Additionally, I would appreciate any recommendations for possible software updates or hardware enhancements that could improve compatibility.

Thank you in advance for your attention and efforts to resolve this issue promptly. I am available for any further questions and look forward to your prompt response.

                Kind regards,
