I'm not sure how long it takes for your SSD to fully load after waking from sleep.
In theory, using an SSD in an in-car infotainment system isn't common, so slow loading is to be expected. If you're using it for music playback, this isn't ideal—I'd recommend storing music files on the internal storage instead.
Alternatively, try reformatting the SSD.

But you did not give any recommendations about formatting. As it is a native linux system i tried ext4 but this does not work at all.

Maybe you could workout a recommendation for large external storage expansion because internal storage will always stay restricted amount of storage.

We do not specifically support hard drives. Our USB design is intended for standard flash drives. I am unsure of the mode your SSD uses or whether it has partitions. We have tested a 500GB hard drive used with Windows to store files, and it functions without issues.

It is recommended to use a USB drive no larger than 128GB. For drives exceeding 128GB, you will need to test their compatibility yourself.
Additionally, the most compatible file formats are FAT32 and EXFAT.

sleis You should know that when converting an SSD drive to a USB interface, the initial read speed will be slow.
It's fine for storing some commonly used files, but if you want it to store music and play immediately upon startup, an SSD converted to USB won't load that quickly whether you plug it into a PC or any tablet.
So my suggestion is, if you like listening to local music, you can save your music files to the internal storage.
