USB Harddisc connection reliability

I encounter several non reproducible and reproducible problems with my local music library. To reduce these i wonder which is the best connection method for my quite huge music library. For the moment it is a 1TB USB2 Harddisc connected on the DUDU7 usb2 port connector. I tried it also connecting a small usbc hub ton the usb-c connector and connect the harddisc on the hub. Mostly the same issues which are:
After start up the Music does not continue playing (I tried several settings with app stay on, continue after reboot etc.)
After startup mostly there is no database access to third party apps (musicolet). Sometimes after some minutes)
Also internal media app sometimes have no access to the music files. Somehow somewhat sometimes it comes back.

Is there a preferred method to integrate a large local music library. Should i copy it to the internal memory (my device is 512GB) but this is getting me limited on space? USB C or USB connection? Thanks for any hints to make this working reliable.

sleis It is likely that the drive requires more power than the USB port could deliver. You would likely need a externally powered hub to provide extra power required for the hard-drive or as an alternate try a NVME drive.

Your current issue is that when you save songs on a 1TB hard drive, they won't play automatically after the next startup, correct?
Are you using local media to play music?

It not only one issue. The main issue that after sleep (at startup) it cannot find any songs. With integrated local media player sometimes and with a Musikplayer named Musicolet nearly always.
Sometimes the files are back after 30 seconds, sometimes after 5 minutes, sometimes only after reboot and wait ...
Sure it is a follow up problem that this cant autoplay directly after start ...

Thanks for the hint. Even my harddisc consumes very low energy i will try this. My usb-c hub have a power plug so its easy to try.

It does not seem to be better or worst with external power connect it. I switched to a 64GB SSD to speed up problem research. It is still the same. It behaves like there is a Algorithm which is fed from wrong parameters. Or like Alpha software. No idea how to use this function without getting high blood.

Try turning on this switch. Your issue is likely that after startup, the player executed the playback command, but your 1TB hard drive hadn't loaded yet. Since it couldn't read the content, playback stopped.

As written it is a 64GB SSD now. When i leave the usb drive on (with external power to the disc) during sleep of Dudu7 it startup normal 3 of 5 times.

As you bite in the Song Startup issue i declare it as a secondary effect, please look at it at a later stage when the main Problem is solved.

The main Problem is: music library is not always directly available after startup.

As my research up now concludes: Independent from what drive, independent on which usb port the drive is connected the problem occur in that way that it takes up to 5 minutes that all data is back populated. Sometimes only through Restart the unit and wait ...

Have you tried testing with a regular USB flash drive?
Or testing by plugging it directly into the USB port without using a docking station?

A mi me pasa exactamente lo mismo con mi SSD de 1Tb marca Samsung T7 Shield.

Con una aplicación selecciono ruta donde tengo videos musicales o archivos Mp3 y aleatoriamente me los detecta y puedo reproducirlo y otras veces es imposible detectarlos y reproducirlos.
Me he dado cuenta que dependiendo de la App es imposible detectarlos y reproducirlos , otras Apps este problema es Aleatorio .

Y encontré una App la cual nunca falla y siempre los detecta y reproduce.

Yo creo que es un problema combinado de software de Dudu con la propia app que se intenta usar para la reproducción.

Prueba esta app que te indicó a ver si con ella siempre te muestras archivos y siempre los reproduce.

I test without docking, same problem.
I dont know what is a regular usb flash drive. Something without sata interface? GBT or MBR? Fat or fat32? EXT4 does not work at all!

If not, please try testing with a standard non-SSD USB flash drive.

How long does it take for your hard drive to boot up?
I tested using an external hard drive enclosure with a 500GB SSD, and it can play videos after waking from hibernation, though it's a bit slower.
