Way to set a PIN Code or password?

Is there any way I can secure my Dudu7 with a PIN code, password or pattern?

I'm imagining if someone steals the device from my car, they could then access my entire google account.

Or even taking the car to the mechanic, they could, for example, install gmail and access all my email.

That would easily be enough information for identity theft.

The more I think about it, the more important I think this is.

We need a way to lock the unit.

If you acknowledge the feature request has been made a lot of times, then instead of being rude to your customers, it's probably time to prioritize the issue and talk to your developers.

You could even post some documentation on your wiki page about planned features and their expected release date. Then maybe your customers could look at that instead of making separate requests.

Or alternatively, you can not post documentation, don't give ETAs, get annoyed and be rude to any customers who ask on this forum which is supposedly for discussing these exact kinds of problems, and see how that works out for you.

Guess I need to take that as a no, because nobody from Dudu auto thinks it warrants a reply.

WoOOOhOOO which is very strange considering all Google account is exposed to a service garage if the car is for a repair. I just don't know why Dudu is so hesitant to take some of the solution from for instance FCC launcher (like speed limits widget, service mode or using openstreet maps api for street name in the status bar, instead of Chinese provider that works only in China).
Also dudu is resistant to adapt the UI to left hand drive (UK, India, Australia etc). I can't move bar to the right, neither I can make navi bar to have navigation icons to the right and clock to the left). OSD after over a year of development is still only in km, can't do miles and it's mostly in Chinese.
Screen brightness in 3.5 could be literally brought to black 0, now cannot in 3.6 and burning retinas in the night.
Forcing lyrics in the media player plugin with super small buttons (who needs lyrics in all layouts in the car?? If only 5 songs from my library of 2000 show it, because it's taken from a Chinese server...)
DPI on 9.5 inch is too small.
And the list goes on.

Again, regarding this problem, it seems that it doesn't actually make a difference when 3.7 is coming...

Because as you've stated, there's nothing to indicate if it will be consolidated, evaluated, approved and subsequently included in 3.7.

Or indeed if it will ever get implemented at all.

3.6 is about to end. The final version will be available soon. There will be no further maintenance for 3.6.
All development will move to 3.7. If you want to implement this feature in 3.6, I can only tell you that it may not be possible.

I'm asking for a PIN code feature.

You're the one who brought up 3.7 out of nowhere, but also said that there's nothing to say whether any version ever will include a PIN code.

Literally zero useful information regarding the actual outcome that I (and others) want.
