Use the app called carlink. Thats all i can say as it works thru that app. It should just work. I had to ditch my vw sim. It did not work very well for me here in the tri state area.

Skillzo1 which sims did you try? Maybe I can help you by sharing my experience. I'm on day 2 of my Verizon SIM. $20/month unlimited.

I tried tello, verizon, and t mobile.

T mobile works the best. Tello 2nd best. Verizon rarely worked. Always lost service and would take forever to connecr and reconnect. I pay $20 a month unlimited on t mobile. Its thru my gf account. Verizon was $15 thru my account but just wasnt worth it.

I have Metro by T-Mobile and I could not get the T-Mobile network to work. Cricket has been the best by far. I did their 14 day free trial and it connected immediately when turning on the truck. Do you have cricket in your area?
I was on the road quite a bit today and my Verizon service from Total Wireless was pretty solid. It takes longer than I would like on startup but once it's on it works pretty solid.

I think cricket is in my area. Im in north jersey area. But i think im good with what i got. Its not fantastic but it works the best. I spent about a month trying different things. Dont wanna spend anymore time and $ on it.

Skillzo1 I'm in the same boat. If curiosity gets the better of you later down the road, I recommend requesting a free 14-day card from cricket.

@DUDU-Meng is there any hardware upgrade (replacement SIM card tray/harness) that would allow 5g compatibility (and more bands)?

I’m using Mint (T-Mobile network). It works but it is slow. And the service is erratic. Some areas 4 bars, then a street away nothing. My phone (T-Mobile) has no service problems anywhere the DUDU does.

4g is old tech. It’s like equipping the Dudu with a VHS slot. While it could work it isn’t really practical…

Regarding the issue of slow 4G network speeds, optimizations have been implemented after November 2025. You may upgrade to the latest system and try again.

DUDU-Meng I am on the latest OTA update. 4g is much slower than 5g.

My question still stands, is there a new sim tray/antenna combo we could get (even aftermarket) that will allow for 5g?

New SIM question:
I've got Verizon, and am trying to "pair" my phone with my head unit (Dudu7) so that I can use google messages to read my SMS on my Dudu device.
I can "pair" my phone's Google Messages with the web version of this program with no problem. But when I try to pair my phone's Google Messages with the Google Messages app that I've downloaded to the Dudu7, it says that it can't pair and that I need to insert a SIM.
I do not want to try to get a SIM for my vehicle, just trying to pair it with my phone.
Question: Is there a way to bi-pass the SIM reader altogether so I can directly pair? Or is there another option- inserting a SIM card but not activating it so I'll use my paired phone data?
