Skillzo1 I’m gonna give T-Mobile a shot but they were the most expensive option since I don’t have service with them.

kaiiser that was my issue to with t mobile but my girlfriend has t mobile plan so its discounted. $20 a month unlimited. So i went thru her. Verizon was $15 tello was $25

Has anyone been able to reset their emei back to default? I don’t want to reset their entire HU just to reset the emei

I am using US Mobile They have three sim card options in the US. Warp=Verizon, Light Speed=T-Mobile, and Dark Star= AT&T. I was not successful getting the Dark Star\AT&T sim to work, I have never tried the Warp\Verizon Sim from them, and both my new (this week) 13" 1 din Mekede DUDU7 and my 1 din (2024 model) 15" Joying in my other car both work great with no setup hassles at all. popped the sim in activated it on US Mobiles Website and off to the races I went I get about 25up\down on both units. So US Mobile's Light Speed T-Mobile Sim is batting 1000 for me! cool thing is I ordered a handful of sims from them about a year and a half ago when they had a deal think I paid about US$10 for 6 unactivated sims from them (3x lite speed) and (3x Warp) they didnt have Dark Star yet when I ordered them. I have been keeping in a safe place for a day such as today.grabbed a lite speed sim logged in to my US Mobile dashboard and in 10 minutes added my own line and activated my own sim. popped it in the DUDU and away we go! easy peasy!

I wanted to use a SIM card instead of my phone. I put a card in before the installer had installed the system. Sim wouldn't work. Went back to Verizon and tried a different SIM. Still no joy. I then reread the instructions, installed the new SIM, held it in place with my thumb, and rebooted the system. It worked, recognized the 4G immediately. So I added a shim made from cut paper to apply more pressure on the SIM card. Buttoned up the holder, and it's worked great ever since. Reboot apparently was a key. The shim was also key to contacting the pad. Everything is a process with these systems. But I love the system so far.

I have a Dudu7 in my 2016 GMC Sierra I'm in Arizona. The SIM card battle has been frustrating. Customer support through Whatsapp recommended at&t. I went to Cricket since they use at&t towers. They have a 7 day 3GB free trial. The SIM came in the mail and worked great after the paper shim trick and multiple reboots. As soon as I would get in the truck It had a 4G connection and everything was working immediately. When I went back to cricket their plans were too expensive for me to justify adding a line to my truck.
I went to Total wireless who uses Verizon towers. The manager let me test out his SIM card in my truck and it worked. Today I switched my cell phone service over from MetroPCS which uses T-Mobile towers (T-Mobile didn't work) to total wireless. I purchased a TCL tablet for $120. I pulled the SIM card from that and put it in my truck. I got it to work but it takes quite a bit of time for the head unit to recognize the SIM card. I have changed the IMEI in the unit to match my Total wireless (Verizon) SIM card. Once I got the total wireless SIM to work in the truck I assumed that it would instantaneously turn on when I turn the truck on the same as the cricket SIM card did. This hasn't been the case. I feel like Mekede has dropped the ball with these cheap SIM card holders. The 4G network is also working against us. They put all that technology into the device but no 5G. I feel like if they are going to market these devices to run off of a SIM card they should have the problems ironed out for us.
I hope this helps somebody in Arizona or the US. I don't know if I will get alerts to this message if somebody replies, but if I see a comment I will do my best to answer your questions. I saw a video of a guy using a different Android device and that device had a way to turn off SIM card 1. SIM card 2 is what is set up in my head unit. I'm going to reach out to support and see if they can figure out a way to shut off SIM card 1. I'm hoping that will take care of the lag.

Skillzo1 how do I get Android Auto to work? Do I need to install it from the Google Play store? I would like to give it a try to see if it irons out some of the bugs that I am experiencing.
I have a total wireless SIM card in my truck right now they run off of Verizon towers. It connects to the internet but it takes forever when the vehicle goes into sleep mode.

Use the app called carlink. Thats all i can say as it works thru that app. It should just work. I had to ditch my vw sim. It did not work very well for me here in the tri state area.

I tried tello, verizon, and t mobile.

T mobile works the best. Tello 2nd best. Verizon rarely worked. Always lost service and would take forever to connecr and reconnect. I pay $20 a month unlimited on t mobile. Its thru my gf account. Verizon was $15 thru my account but just wasnt worth it.

I have Metro by T-Mobile and I could not get the T-Mobile network to work. Cricket has been the best by far. I did their 14 day free trial and it connected immediately when turning on the truck. Do you have cricket in your area?
I was on the road quite a bit today and my Verizon service from Total Wireless was pretty solid. It takes longer than I would like on startup but once it's on it works pretty solid.

I think cricket is in my area. Im in north jersey area. But i think im good with what i got. Its not fantastic but it works the best. I spent about a month trying different things. Dont wanna spend anymore time and $ on it.

Skillzo1 I'm in the same boat. If curiosity gets the better of you later down the road, I recommend requesting a free 14-day card from cricket.
