  • Ford Mustang V6 Base 2013 CANBUS

Hi
I have a Mustang 2013 with the 10.3" DUDU7 installed. OS is updated to 3.6 Beta 5.
The Canbus Adapter is:

I have selected XC(BSJ) - FORD - Explorer - KEEP CD
There is no Mustang available. The seller told me to use this one.

This works:

  • SWC (But I removed it and connected directly to DUDU. Now I can open Apps with the steering wheel buttons.)
  • Outside temperature (it seems it only works when temperature is >= 10°C. Difficult to check again, because temperature raised and is mostly over 10°C now.)
  • Climate control works with the "Touch Assistant" app.
  • Door information

Don't work:

  • TPMS (I can see the values with laptop and OBD2 adapter)
  • Steering wheel angle for camera track (With OBD2 adapter I can see the steering wheel angle)

I'm actually quite happy with the system already. Also with the 360 camera setup.
But it would be great if the more modern climate controls is also working for my car.

What additional information do you need to fully support the climate control of my car?
I tried to take the CANBUS data dump to a TXT file, but I could not find the file. I can try again if this information is needed.

Best regards,
Roger

lHopital Is the OBD2 adapter a standalone electronic device or an accessory received with the CANBUS box?
TPMS depends on whether the original car screen can be displayed, many cars display TPMS in the dashboard, the original car screen does not have data, so it is normal that it does not display even after replacing the Android radio
Camera track question: Does the car have steering wheel corner information (ESP body stabilization system). If so, please provide CANBUS logs of steering wheel left and right turns.

The canbus box did not come with OBD2 adapter. I have connected this OBD2 bluetooth adapter
On DUDU I see information like fuel level, water temperature, speed and RPM

My car has a MS-CAN and a HS-CAN bus. The canbus box is connected to the MS-CAN. The blue ELM327 adapter is only reading HS-CAN data.

I have a second OBD2 adapter, that can switch between HS and MS-CAN.

I only found the steering wheel angle from the ABS and the PSCM module. Both are in the HS-CAN bus and therefore not available over the canbus box.
Is it possible in DUDU OS to get the steering wheel angle over OBD2 from one of these modules?

TPMS values are available in the GEM/SJB module which is in the MS-CAN. This picture shows preasure for all four wheels.

Some pictures from the climate control:

Touch Assistant works fine. When I change something on the panel below the DUDU, the grey indications at the bottom pop up. I know I can turn this off, but then I don't see the changes.

      Version info:

I tried again to export the canbus protocol into a file, but I don't get the file created. I searched everywhere...
      Settings are changed like that:

Do I turn on the wrong configuration? In the link you provided, everything looked a bit different.

lHopital DUDU does not support TPMS display for such OBD devices

Record the CANBUS log of the camera track with your camera, upload it to Google Drive and share it with us!

I only used the OBD device to check if the TPMS values are available in the MS-CAN where the canbus box is connected.

The canbus box does not provide steering wheel angle information, because it is not available on the MS-CAN where the canbus box is connected.

Steering wheel angle is available from two modules on the HS-CAN bus. This information can be read with any OBD2 device. Also with the bluetooth one that is connected to DUDU for speed, fuel level etc.

The question is, does DUDU OS somehow support steering wheel angle over OBD?

lHopital DUDU cannot get track information in OBD2 devices
It can only get the track information of the CANBUS box, if the CANBUS box does not have the steering wheel corner information, you can replace the CANBUS box of other brands to try.

dudu-lai Is the video recorded without being in reverse gear? Some CANBUS bus boxes need to have a reverse gear signal in order to send steering wheel corner information to the android radio

                  dudu-lai
Good point, it was not in reverse. I will try again in the evening.

I tried looking for other brands like Raise or so, but I can't find other.. The controls below the dudu are connected to the canbus box. Therefore, it seems I have to use this one.

When I'm in reverse gear, there is almost no output from canbus. Nothing when turning the steering wheel.
Would have been a nice to have feature, but not important.

For the TPMS information, I just install Touque Pro App and show it like that. That is good enough for me.

Thank you for your quick support.

The only thing that is a bit annoying at the moment, is the climate control display and the Touch assistant app. If you could consider to improve it in the future, that would be really nice.
In case you need more information from me for that, let me know.

                  a month later

Were you able to track down a canbus box that reads HI-CAN and MS-CAN with output to the DUDU7?

                    Isk
Only with OBD2, but not canbus directly.
It is really difficult to find a lot of different canbus boxes. With a lot of work it would be possible to build an own one, but I don't time for that.

At the moment I just hope that the new climate control will be implemented for my car, but I'm not sure this will happen...
