  • Nissan Pathfinder harness+canbus issues

Hi,
I've been struggling with installing an Android head unit in my Nissan Pathfinder for a few months now. I finally found the right (almost) wiring harness and Canbus decoder. However, I'm having trouble getting help from a seller on Aliexpress, so I'm asking here. My car is a Nissan Pathfinder R51 with navigation.

The Canbus decoder is Raise RZ-DF17.

As for the wiring harness, my car has two Canbus lines, one for communication with the vehicle and the other for controlling the media. It turned out that the Canbus media connection was connected incorrectly in the wiring harness. After swapping the cables, it started working 😃.
Another problem is that the wiring harness does not have a wire controlling the amplifier. And here's my first question:
Can I just connect 12V to this pin? I saw that in another wiring harness (where the amplifier works) it is connected to ACC (G3) in the main connector of the head unit.

The main problem in my case is getting the visualization of the climate control settings. Of course it would be nice if the buttons and knobs on the central panel also worked.

And here are some more questions? How do I update the Canbus decoder to the latest software version? Can an MCU update also help in my case? I found information and a file with an MCU update somewhere here on the forum that solved the amplifier problem in another car.

I tried to get the contact to the technical person responsible for the wiring harness project to solve these problems with him, but without success. I simply cannot get the contact details of the appropriate person from the seller. Could someone tell me if the wiring harness and the Canbus decoder are manufactured by the same seller? And is it possible to somehow get the contact details of the person responsible for this?

kryzys 1: If there is no sound, you need to connect the AMP control cable to the AMP C cable on the A connector of the DUDU unit.
2: Can the OEM display show AC information? Did you consult the harness seller before purchase to see if the ability to display AC could be retained?
3: Pushbutton on center panel controls OEM CD mainframe, but it has stopped working
4: CANBUS software and MCU software are two things, DUDU can not provide CANBUS software, you need to contact CANBUS box company to provide. How can you confirm that the CANBUS sold by the seller is not the latest version?

    1. Okay. Can you tell me the difference between connecting vehicle’s AMP control wire to DUDU HU and connecting it directly to 12V ACC like in my other harness.

    2. The seller sent me technical documentation from Raise and it says (it is automatically translated from Chinese):

      1. Compatible Vehicle Models:
Model PATHFINDER (with amplifier) (Russia), 14 Model PATHFINDER (with amplifier and 360) (Russia)
      2. Product Functions (for reference only, different years and configurations may have different product functions)

          2. Wire harness length: 450mm, other requirements will be produced according to actual requirements

    3. I’ll see what is working after installation with modified harness…

    4. Thanks for the information.

      kryzys It is the same.
However, when connected to the AMP C cable, there is no “popping” sound at startup.

      Hi,
finally it is installed. After modifying my harness media CAN started to work. Volume and buttons on central console work, but the biggest issue is that A/C controls DON’T.
Please tell me what can I do/check to make it work. Driving without working A/C in summer is not very pleasing 😉

Also factory rear camera does not give any picture. Harness documentation stays that it has proper (6V) camera power.

Vehicle settings look very poor (not many options) and it looks like they are not persisted (saved) after choosing A/C panel type it is not saved.

kryzys You will need to download the Touchscreen Assistant program from the App Store for controlling/displaying the air conditioner.
Does the stock car have a reverse camera or 360 camera head?
There is a tulip plug on the harness, are you connecting it to the Lotus header on the F zone CAM IN of the DUDU unit?

        10 days later

        Hi,
after using my system for a couple of days I have few issues and questions. As I have written before it is installed with a little modified harness. Media CAN started to work. Volume and buttons on central console work, but the biggest issue is that A/C controls DON’T. I’ve installed Touch Assistant, but it didn’t help. The only thing that works is defroster button, but it is not controlled by canbus - it has its’ own wire. My canbus setting is correct:

Please tell my why canbus settings is so poor and what is „Air conditioning panel type”? Or should I also ask Raise about it?

        1. So my first and most important question is how to make A/C to work? Please tell me if I should contact canbus box producer (Raise)? Can I help them with some canbus logs from the unit? Here is small video:
          [https://drive.google.com/file/d/15bgvp83MWivN4R1SnLqm2x77eni7DWUr/view?usp=sharing](A/C video)
Touch assistant - only defroster works

        2. As for factory rear camera. It looks like it is connected properly. I’ll try to find some more information and get back to you.

        3. And the last thing… I think I have a broken fan in my unit. Check out video below. Can I replace it by myself? What fan should I buy?
          [https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QYILGyMzvtIqoxGN2DdYhlOMIwXaZtgt/view?usp=sharing](Fan video)

        Thanks

          1. I'll try to get logs today...
          2. Is it standard 12V? Will this one be suitable NF-A4x10 FLX

            kryzys It's a standard 12V

I've tried to get logs from canbus, but there is no output 🙁 What I'm doing wrong?

            Export is enabled.

Where these log files should be stored? I was looking for canBusALog directory...

kryzys Video Recording of Air Conditioner CANBUS Problem Logs with a Cell Phone

Here is the video: AC operation

Only defroster works because it is not canbus operated, it has its' own wire.

What about these logs? Can you tell me how to find them?

Also, the vehicle settings look broken to me. Other examples (screenshots from other cars) show much, much more settings. Is this possible, or is it my car that is just so poorly supported?

kryzys The video is well recorded, the question is: the physical buttons control what the AC does, but only the defroster pops up to show at DUDU, the other AC buttons don't?
                Am I understanding this correctly?

Exactly. Defroster button is operated with its' own physical wire, so it displays AC popup and it looks like it works because defroster icon changes.
The rest of A/C buttons/knobs are operated by canbus and they do not work at all.

As canbus is the same for other controls on the console (volume, settings, etc.) it is strange, because everything except A/C wroks.

kryzys The rest of A/C buttons/knobs are operated by canbus and they do not work at all(Does that statement mean that the physical A/C buttons, except for the defroster, the buttons are disabled? Like it's broken?)

Just because the defroster can pop up an icon at DUDU doesn't mean it works. Just because the rest of the buttons (e.g. temperature, air speed) can't pop up icons on the DUDU doesn't mean it's not working. Can you confirm this?
The A/C buttons are OEM panel buttons, if none of the buttons work, check for incorrect installation!

By "they do not work" i mean they are not correctly handled by HU/canbus box. Physically they are working okay, they are not broken.

One canbus line is connected to the whole console, so A/C is on the same canbus line as volume, FM/AM/Settings and the rest of buttons. But only A/C controls are not handled correctly
