Optical Output - Maximum Volume is Low

Mikescotland what makes you think that optical that isn’t pass through would sound horrible?

doozy I have all dsp effects off. And as soon as I turn off spdif pass through the sound changes immediately, like it's adding some kind of surround to it. Like cheap TV with "surround sound"

Do you have a microphone and REW? You could measure the response from a sweep of 20hz-20khz and overlay them. Not that you should have to do this, but it could help them/us to sort out what's happening and find a path to fixing it with a new update.

I'm quite a ways out from my install but if its not done by then I will have the equipment to do this.

Mikescotland have you disabled DTS? Try disabling it and then try again.

Isk i do have them but I'm not so sure if that's a response problem. It more like phase is all over the place. I'll do it anyway.
