  • Optical Output has Low Volume

I'm using the optical output into my DSP amplifier but the max volume is a bit low.

When I use my phone with the app, USB Audio Player Pro (UAPP) with a digital connection to optical into my DSP amplifier, the volume can go much higher.

How can I increase the volume of the optical output?

Edit .. solved .. in Tidal app, the "Normalize Volume" setting was enabled by default which was reducing the volume. Much louder with that setting disabled.

I am contemplating to add a DSP to the setup. How many audio channels is sent by Dudu7 via optical/coaxial? Is it 5.1, 4.1 or just 2 channels?
Thanks in advance.

ivr read somewhere its 2ch 🙁

I just happened to install my new DUDU7 yesterday in my car and On the optical out to Optical in to my dsp, Yes, even I felt the volume to be lower.
Optical has only 2 channel. Left and the right, that is it.

What DSP are you running? I have the JL Audio VX1000/5i and a DuDu 7 waiting to be installed. Were you able to adjust it louder? I plan on using the optical output as well. Do you audibly notice a difference between RCA and optical? Does one sound clearer than the other?

I am running ZAPCO ST 6X DSP. It only has OPT in and yeah the volume is a bit lower. I am still very new to DUDU. I can say it's just been less than 24 hrs I have started exploring DUDU. For now, I am planning to stick around with OPTICAL out. Try tuning and some workaround then I think I may consider USB to DAC to DSP.

Not used RCA and not intending to. So left it open as is. Did not pull any RCAs back to my boot where my DSP AMP is.

Hi All, I am having issues with USB audio output from DUDU7.
Whereas, RCA, High-level, Optical spdif and coaxial is working perfectly fine but USB audio is not working.
I did all possible resets and updates. Then also it's not working.

It was working yesterday and after I turned off the car and turned on, it stopped working.

Mitz What are you sending it into?

To my processor that has a builtin DAC.
        GOLDHORN P3DSPA.

Mitz Might be a daft question, but have you tried another USB source device to confirm its actually the headhunit?

My helix will allow usb input from an android phone, but flat out refuses to comply with apple stuff. USB dacs are weird.

Yes, It's actually the headunit. I tried with my laptop connected to my processor with USB and it working fine.

I think at this point, with so many users getting the Dudu7 specifically for the Optical/SPDIF/USB audio, Mekede should write up a detailed section of the manual to cover the various setup options. A chart would really help.

I've read just about every thread on the matter and it's still a little muddy. There's so many factors that come into play, having it all in one place would save a l9t of time.

Absolutely correct ! You nailed it right.
Dudu should get us a detailed manual.

It would only help their sales. How many of here watched RAWcat and SAAB Unleashed feature and measure the unit? More people would have confidence buying if this was highlighted as a premium feature.

And dont forget about the members cross posting their experiences in various car and audio forums. This is how you build a reputation and brand loyalty.

I will say this forum is very helpful, just disorganized and scattered on this specific topic. They should hire real pros at copy whom are bilingual in the regions they want to get a strong footing in
