jamar Purtroppo la funzione AF non funziona, praticamente la radio FM non si può usare, non capisco perché si impegnino su tante applicazioni ma sul sistema AF viene messo da parte. Vorrei ricordare agli ingegneri che la parte più importante è la parte radio FM , perché si ascolta sempre quando si viaggia in auto. Pietro My friend I am not taking any sides here. Maybe for you the most important part is the radio. For example I don't listen to radio at all I prefer music streaming (YT Music) because there are no commercials (on YT premium). You must understand one simple thing. In China RDS system simply doesn't exist and it is very hard to test and so on. If you'll say that the AF function is not related to RDS I will contradict you. And believe me when I say the devs are working on it. But it is similar to try to make surgery blindfolded. It is very easy to speak bad things, but you must understand that the developing team had a holiday in this period.

MihaiFlorin It's true, the application was written from scratch, that's why it has problems, and it develops nicely. I prefer FM radio anyway, in Europe most people listen to FM radio.

trap63 L'ho già usata, ma non cambia nulla, comunque ho capito che in Cina non c'è RDS e va bene, in Europa RDS c'è e se viaggi in macchina se vuoi ascoltare la radio FM è meglio che la spegni perché dopo qualche chilometro senti solo un fruscio, la stazione non riesce a più a trovare. È vero che ci sono tante applicazioni musicali,ma io avevo acquistato il dudu con la speranza che avevano migliorato RDS, ma aimé è peggiorata rispetto al Dudu 7862 che forse qualche volta riusciva a cambiare. In conclusione ho capito che queste meravigliose radio fanno tantissime cose ma la la parte radio FM è veramente deludente.Vi ricordo che se si riuscisse a fare funzionare RDS in Europa, sicuramente le vendite aumenterebbe di molto.

NavRadio is of course great, I use it myself, but Kotix uses for his software the same radio functions from firmware as the built-in media app. So he cannot control the RDS functions, onle enable/disable it, as the implementation is handled by firmware. That said, RDS AF with NavRadio works exactly the same as with builtin Radio app...

So how many tests did you do with NavRadio?
All users are happy with NavRadio because it works so much better.
It is still not 100% perfect and occasionally misses something, but in general it works very nice with RDS-AF.

surfer63 I run much time Dab-Z ,therefore for me are extremely rare the situations outside the major cities, when opening NavRadio+ works very fine and RDS works. Some users when upgrade stock car head units doesn't know the specs of proper aerial. There are passive and active aerial system, the active ones need to be powered under 12v from car wiring or via Dudu head unit. If no power comes to antenna a poor signal is normal. Some Toyota, Subarus, Renault and BMW, VW need 12v+ power (blue wire). This option in included in Dudu wiring specs. I get DuduAuto 7870 -7, all works fine.

surfer63 Navradio is cool but I like the dudu FM radio app more, it works day and night when you turn on the lights. It displays the station name on the bottom bar, FM station logos also work. The only problem is AF. The dudu FM radio app was created from scratch, it is developing well.

Well, speaking for myself, I'm using NavRadio for nearly five years now with several headunits, and with Dudu 7 it would be around 10 months. So I've tested it well enough, I guess. And as I said, NavRadio simply cannot handle RDS functions any better, because it doesn't have access to all the necessary data (ideally full RDS stream, or at least full RDS AF table, RDS error rate, radio signal etc.) and it depends on the RDS and radio functions available from firmware. So it shares the same radio base functions like stock radio app, therefore it will work the same way. With the only slight exception of FYT 7862 units, where Kotix managed to somewhat reimplement the AF function with RadioProxy companion app...
That said, AF and other RDS functions (namely TP/TA which on Dudu7 doesn't work at all) depends on firmware and needs to be addressed by Dudu developers.

trap63 The power supply of the antenna amplifier is not taken into account, when it comes to the antenna installation, I am sure that everything is connected correctly.

trap63 Scusami, ma RDS funziona perché da il nome? ok lo fa anche a me, però se si viaggia il cambio di frequenza quando serve non avviene, rimane sulla stessa frequenza nonostante il segnale sia molto disturbato. Come fai a dire che RDS funziona bene ! non funziona affatto per niente, e poi l'antenna non centra nulla perché con l'autoradio originale va benissimo ( oltretutto ho l'antenna amplificata di serie) e cambia benissimo la frequenza migliore quando serve. Quindi ribadisco che AF è nullo. Forse se vogliamo AF ma in maniera minima funziona sul TS10 topway. Penso che AF non potrà funzionare mai perché il problema resta nella scheda madre, dove non è stato considerato bene il progetto AF, mi potrei sbagliare spero !!!

Pietro I don't know if you're right, AF worked better in the previous radio app, the steering wheel buttons didn't work and that was a minus.

But to be honest, fot me the AF on Dudu 7 works on probably the same level as on Topway TS10. On my trips, I'm driving regulary, it sometimes works as it should, correctly jumps to right strong frequency when signal drops. Sometimes it takes a few minutes of false tries, when it finally manages to jump to correct one. And sometimes it doesn't work at all, constantly trying some wrong noisy frequency or jums to a freqency of completely different station.
So, to sum it all up, we can all agree that the RDS AF is definitely partially broken and this needs to be addressed by Dudu devs. As a few users here already pointed out, they hopefully know about this and will try to improve it, so let's give them time to work ;-)
If needed, I can help with testing, make for example videos of the good or bad behaviour, send RDS data (PI code, AF lists,... ) of affected stations and so on.
