• DUDU OS
  • Dudu7 head unit reboots by itself

Mongcharlie Still haven't found the cause of the reboot
Please do this, clear the history ylog, connect the TPMS and DVR separately without rebooting, and print a 5 minute log to help us find the USB anomaly issue.
There is no good solution for the reboot issue, the cause is unknown.
Please downgrade back to OS3.0 version, steps are as follows 1: Download OS3.0 version from this link, unzip it to the root directory of USB flash drive (https://drive.google.com/file/d/14M6FXZk2nPzdHyLwyy1pQ1pAYZyQmC82)
2: At the same time, put this file into the root directory of USB flash disk (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mb2CoCQcstpSPWyB0TxI0wjEj_XQGhHW/view?usp=sharing)
Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port, the USB flash drive will be downgraded automatically.

Mongcharlie OS version 3.0 has the same problem, so you can rule out a system issue. It could be a hardware issue.

So I found out that it's shutting down because of a thermal issue. It rebooted again today, but I already downloaded ADA 64 and immediately opened it up right after the restart the thermals we're all very high. The temperature drops down very fast and becomes stable at about 45c

Also, I didn't mention this before, but whenever I turn on any app, the fan will start spinning up and turn off.

                  Update:

looks like i got a bad unit, working on getting a replacement with mekede. I'll keep the post updated

                  same issue on dudu 3.5
my headunit is rebooting after 1hour

                  Did you have simcard insert?
                  Is the 4G always ON?

                    Mongcharlie
My with temperature 40+ still will reboot intermittent.

Mongcharlie No, I have had a few more reboots over the last couple of weeks. It seems to be mainly when there is CPU intensive apps running. I have it connected via BT to a OBD2 adapter with Car Scanner app running. I also run offroad maps (Newtracs). It may have something to do with heat. I have felt the frame around the edges of the screen when it happens and it feels very hot to touch (not just from sun). The fan is not running all the time though, just on and off now and then.

Let me know how you go with a replacement unit and if it resolves the reboots after replacement.

I ordered mine Nov 30 and received in Dec.

This makes me wonder how the thermal transfer material is applied, if any, to the SOC and heatsink. Is it a pad, adhesive or is it a paste being used and how much.

I never had this with the DUDU7 from March 24.
The new one with the loud fan rebooted several times.
                      Today i used a harness without canbus-box.
I will see if this helps

                      I had afew reboot also.
                      I suspect is CANBUS compatibility.
                      Also PIP function.
I normally use poweramp + Google map with simcard insert.
After I change from poweramp apps to UAPP without PIP function, so far no reboot for a week..
                      Still monitoring .
Before for that almost 2-3 days reboot 1 time.

there is a thermal pad on the Soc and the TDA7808 sound chip, and the whole back plate is the heat sink
