Well, then there must be something wrong with your unit or you have faulty wiring somewhere (Aren't cables broken somewhere? Have you all connectors correctly settled?).
As I said, sensitivity of Dudu units is just fine, on the same level as other car radios with TDA7708 chip (most of units uses this chip these days).
For me, without powering the antenna, I can receive only local transmitters. With correctly powered antenna, all stations plays as it should. I've compared radios in two cars - My Toyota Proace City with Dudu7 and Jeep Renegade with factory radio, both standing next to each other, and both had nearly the same reception. My another testing Dudu7, connected to house antenna, has even slightly better reception and selectivity than table FM/DAB/Internet tuner I'm normally using. Sound quality is also okay for integrated tuner, the TEF6686 having slightly better stereo separation in my tests though.
So, it really shouldn't be that bad as you're describing.
And talking about unfinished product, well, all those Android headunits needs to be taken as a partially DIY toy for big kids like us ;-) But with way bigger possibilities than much more expensive and "finished" units from big brands like Alpine or Pioneer.
On the other hand, Dudu/Mekede is the only manufacturer/developer I know, who atcually listens to user community and tries to improve the features based on user requests...
