Dudu7 Bad Noise/Interference In Speakers

I get a really bad noise/interference in the speakers from my Dudu7 unit. I had an android unit that worked perfectly before and all I've done is change to the Dudu7 and the problem appeared. I have already tried disconnecting everything that's not important, I have also tried adding a new ground wire and nothing fixes it.

Do I have a faulty unit? Or is something else going on?

I am now 100% sure I have faulty Dudu7

I removed it completely and took it to my battery, I connected only positive and negative wires and then RCA output to my amplifier and still I have the same problem...

To me it sounds as if your alternator (rev dependent whine) and indicators (other) interfere. Could indeed be a ground loop. You mentioned RCA so have an external amp. Try and connect the grounds of the amp and the Dudu via an extra cable (1.5mm²). Alternatively isolate the ground on the RCA on the amp side so that only the signal pin connects.
Also check on the ground cable of the engine (in the engine bay) sometimes it rots and you get such issues (but more likely for alternator than indicators).

Anyway to me it looks more like a cabling issue than a defective unit.

gismo I appreciate your trying to help but considering the stock head unit in the car worked perfectly, the other android head unit I have works perfectly and the only issue is when I use the Dudu7 I don't see how you've come to this conclusion? I've ruled everything out apart from the dudu otherwise I'd get the same issues with the other android unit...

Well that's because it's a rather common cause but if you're certain that's due to a defective unit - fine, wait for the exchange and see if the other is better. If not you'll have lost time, but it's not my time 😉

liamstears I’m an end user just like you. maybe don’t bash the unit and give us details. What components are installed in your Audio system. What kind of car. You’re looking at an audio unit that is ahead of anything else on the market. There are going to be kinks. There are going to be bugs. This forum is for finding solutions, not just complaining.

liamstears You can try adding an audio filter box to see if that solves the problem.
If it still doesn't solve the problem: when all harnesses are the same and other Android hosts are normal, only the DUDU7 will do this, please replace a DUDU7 unit!

I never did find a proper solution, I tried a new Dudu7 main board but that didn't fix it, maybe there's some interference from the screen maybe? I didn't find anything

To "fix it" I used ground loop isolators on the RCA outputs and that gives me an ok output but really shouldn't have to do it

I haven't tried using the speaker outputs directly on the head unit yet to see if the noise is present but this is something I should try as high to low level converters could be the option if there is no noise on the speaker outputs...

Ok, i only have the noise issieu with a running engine on low volume. So i did place an EMI filter on the power source. This did not improve it.

I'm getting irritated by this problem. As last I will run a groundwire from the headunit to the amplifier.
