Hello Everyone,
I’m Sahil from Qatar. I recently installed a Dudu7 head unit (12GB RAM, 512GB storage, 10-inch screen) with 360 cameras in my 2020 Nissan Patrol. The factory screen was a 6-inch display, very slow, with poor sound and no cameras.
The shop that installed it did a decent job, but they weren’t familiar with the Dudu7 brand and mostly work with generic Chinese models, which they sell for 2-3 times the price of the Dudu7.

This is my first Android head unit, and I love it! It has transformed how my car looks and feels. The sound quality is amazing—way better than I expected.

I have a few questions and would appreciate your guidance:

What’s the correct Canbus setting for a 2020 Nissan Patrol?
The car animation on the screen shows the lights turning on/off but doesn’t show doors opening or closing. Can this be fixed?
When I use Android Auto, Google Maps works full-screen, but Waze doesn’t. Is there a way to fix this?
What is the purpose of the blue robot animation that calls me "Master"?
Can I display the AC controls on the screen?
Do I need calibration mats for 360 camera setup, or is there another method? The front and rear cameras work well, but the side cameras are not clear.
I downloaded a few OSD, and one version shows the speed correctly, but another with two dials (speed and RPM) doesn’t show the RPM. Can it also display things like distance driven or engine temperature, etc ?
Is there an On/Off Button where I can switch off the Headunit before I switch off the car ?

I’m a bit overwhelmed by all the settings, so if anyone can share tips, tricks, or a video tutorial, that would be a huge help.

Hi,

I'll try to answer at least few questions about things I use myself.

First you have to find your Canbus Box manufacturer from the box's sticker. Then in settings select first the box manufacturer name (Raise (RZ), Hiworld or Simplesoft (XP) are most common ones), then car maker (Nissan in your case) and then the model, if the 2020 Patrol is not listed in the menu, choose the most similar one or some universal item if present. It may take some trial and error tries to find the best setting.
Doors opening/closing animation should work after you get Canus working.
No clue, since I'm not using Android Auto.

Yes, as the doors, AC controls should pop up on screen when you'll have Canbus workin. AC controls can also be added on the lower menu bar.
Don't know, I don't have 360°
As far as I know, RPM, coolant temp and other values can be displayed for now only if you have bluetooth OBDII dongle. For now, cheap dongles based od MM32L073 chip should be working. Don't know about similar button, only reboot, screen off or standby mode (no sound, only clock on screen). But the unit will go to sleep mode or shutdown corecly (depending on your settings) according to ACC wire/Ignition.

jamar just to clarify on point #5, just because a/c controls could pop up doesnt mean they will work thru HU.

3: Any application such as Waze can be displayed full screen, I assume you mean picture-in-picture mode? If picture-in-picture doesn't show full screen, you need to upgrade to the latest DUDUOS system.

dudu-lai About the 360 camera calibration cloth: For our Ford Transit RV with 5.34 m length, which cloth should be used? Would you recommend one please?

HondaCivicDriver Use a piece of debugging cloth of size 4.8mx1.2m. Place one cloth in front and one in back.

The more I use this head unit, the more I realize how amazing it is and discover its features. Some things are still unclear to me, but I’m sure with some experimenting, I’ll figure them out. I really wish there was a tutorial video explaining the initial setup and key features—it would’ve made things much easier.

I’m still trying to understand the PIP feature, as I haven’t quite got the hang of it yet.

For my setup, my Canbus is "Raize," and I’ve selected the low-version Nissan Patrol option. However, the car animation on the screen doesn’t show the door status. That’s okay if it’s not supported.

For Waze, I discovered that tapping the Waze button again makes it fullscreen—simple and effective!

As for the AC controls, I understand that since my car is not the high-version model, the screen won’t display them. That’s perfectly fine, as the physical controls below the screen work flawlessly.

Regarding the 360 camera calibration, the shop that installed the unit refused to handle it. I’m planning to buy calibration mats and give it a try myself.

I also have an OBDEleven scanner that I had purchased for my VW GTI, so I’ll test if it’s compatible with this system.

Lastly, I’m still exploring themes, OSD settings, and the PIP feature, trying to figure them out.
