  • Update issue + CAN bus issue + SWC issue

Greetings everyone.
As you can see from the title this is a three part question, and I apologize in advance if some of it doesn't go in this forum (I'll be happy to repost it elsewhere).

Product: DUDU 7 8780 6+64GB
Vehicle: Nissan X-Trail 2017
CAN bus: Simple soft NS-SS-04A, SW:V1,02.006NYPM, DC:20240809, P/N:K0090

First question - Updates
I attempted the OTA update, and this is what I was offered to download:

After the download finished the system rebooted and started applying the update, but it errored out

Am I doing something wrong here, and if so what can I do? Do i need to update it manually, and if so, which update Can I grab the latest one, or do I have to do in in steps (and if so, which one do I start with?

Second question - CAN bus
This is the model I am using

The problem is, my car model isn't shown in the selection menu. The closest is Nissan Qashqai.
Also, in the system info it is shown as an unknown version.
What can I do about fixing it?

Third question - SWC (possibly related to the previous question)
No matter what I try, I just can't get the SWC keys to work, and I am guessing it is related to the CAN bus issue above.
I try to learn the keys - keep them pressed for five seconds, but it has no effect.

Thanks for your help.

    1. Try to update through traditional method by usb. You can download the latest firmware file and unpack the files(not folder) into the USB.

    2. There are some car models that have to select other models. I think your car is the one like that. As for the Can version not showing problem, try choosing null at first, reboot and choose again.

    3. SWC learning isn't supported on car models using canbus module.

      thanks for the quick reply.

Can you tell me how do I get rid of the downloaded update? It triggers every time the system boots up.

What year is your xtrail? I have a 2021 North American Qashqai and the wiring harness I was sent (option B) was wrong. There is a 2019 and above change that is required. I have same canbox and selected either trial high or Qashqai high and SWC work fine.

wwest2 Is there a difference between SWC learning and being able to change SWC buttons to do different things? This is the first I heard that if you have a canbus then SWC learning isn't applicable. I was planning to switch volume SWC with switching stations but I won't attempt if not possible. thx.

It's a 2017. The weird thing is that my reverse cam works, even if i change a completely different box, and a random car model.

As far as I know, SWC learning is the function to customize which function to use for each button on the SWC, when you first set up the unit. However, since canbus assigned the buttons already, this is not possible for cars with canbus. Changing SWC button's a bit different, since it replaces the existing function to other one, but it's not available for the cars with canbus, too. Only choosing the apps for Mode button seems possible now.

Happy to say i managed to get everything to work. Turns out one of the connectors wasn't seated properly.
Thanks to all for your feedback and help.

          Cheers!

You probably only have SWC and some of the minor Canbus stuff like reverse and light signal. Do you have any more enhanced Canbus functions working?
