You are right, I'm not on 3.5. When I got my unit I had that separate control but when I updated to the latest advertised version I have lost it... what a pity! The problem is as I see it that various apps use separate sound channels present on stock android and those can be adjusted individually, but on Dudu we can not reach these controls. And for a quality OS it is really weird. I would ask the developers to make it possible but still do not figure out how to do so.
picasso1850 Upgrade to the latest system version
dudu-langzi Factory system reset did not help me to receive any GPS navigation sounds. I even tried 3.5 and no change. I have configured waze as default nav, changed setting so music doesn't play when navigation talks. I do not know how all the different sound settings impact apps vs stock radio sound. Can you provide any more guidance? Even had navigation sound turned to max in advanced sound settings, no change.
I can tell the navigation sound information is being received because of radio going quiet during GPS instructions, but still no GPS voice is heard.
picasso1850 Just to make sure you are not overlooking the obvious: is the navigation sound in Waze sound settings turned up for sure? You know, there is a volume slider there too just to make eleven out of the ten possibilties...
Taker666 The sound setting in waze is set to the max
picasso1850 Then it is checked. You may experiment with the voice settings also in Waze. I had issues with that before, sometimes the voice data gets corrupted or what. Choose an other one to try no matter you dont understand a word and see if it helps or not.
Taker666 no that doesnt solve problem.
Gwinambele I think I better understand your OP now. when you said fm radio works OK, you meant the default system radio/music. When I switched from Navradio back to system default I finally heard navigation voice. Then I test by switching default back to Navradio and no more navigation voice. Ah ha! So i switch it back to system to confirm....no navigation sounds! lol. I wonder if it needs a reboot when you toggle between system defaults.
picasso1850 I'm also using navradio and it's OK. But I also installed radioproxy app for navradio. It disables system radio app so navradio is treaded as default fm app.
And with navradio app playing I hear navi sound loud. With other player much much worse.
Gwinambele
Radioproxy only works on the 7862 and 8581. Not on the 7870.
It seems that nobody makes the distinction here in this forum thread.
surfer63 I wondered if he was on an older version then me. Do you suggest that is why navRadio and navigation sounds do not work for my 7870?
picasso1850
I can't remember how it works for me on my 7870 with navradio and I can't test before tomorrow.
surfer63 i installed radioproxy on 7870.
Just don't know if it do anything.
Gwinambele It won't work correctly since the radio is one of the function of the media app on 7870.
I tested it Yesterday and this morning. The Navigation sound mix works fine for me with Maps and NavRadio.
In the Settings you can define a default Navigaton app. You also need to do that to make the sound mixing function properly. That already works this way since 2015.
Maps and most Navigation apps also try themselves to reduce the volume of other "sound producing apps" but do not always have the rights to do so. So always set the primay nav app in the Settings.
Sound mix does not work correctly with NavRadio and Google Assistant.
In all other players, the sound is largely reduces when Google Assistant is active. In NavRadio the NavRadio volume stays the same and I first have to pause NavRadio before being able to put a good command to Google assistant.
RadioProxy only works on 7862 and sc9853i units. Not on any other unit. This has been explained by the developer.
Besides: RadioProxy has absolutely nothing to do with the sound mixing.
I have made separate topic about Google assistant
https://forum.dudu-auto.com/d/507-navdadio-and-google-assistant
It's not working with nav radio or any other fm app at all
As for te default app.
Im using Google maps for navi and yanosik which is speed trap warning app. And to it working i need to choose yanosik as default navi app in the setting.
Doesn't change anything in Google maps if I choose it as default or not.
It is still FYT, but dudu is a different FYT
Have you tried turning volume up when navigation voice is talking?
Unfortunately it is not possible to change volume of the navigation voice when talking. Volumes are linked.
Would be cool if possible like on Infotainmentsystems from Mercedes or VW.
