DUDU7 via CANbus "no power" - VW Multivan 2006

I have a Volkswagen Multivan 2006 and tried to install the DUDU7 with a raize canbus decoder. The Dudu7 only starts with the hardwired orange and red cable (shown in the first picture). Then the DUDU7 is always "on". I want to have the DUDU7 "on" (starting) when I turn my key in the car lock and "off" if I leave the car (put my car key out of the lock.
Is there anybody who can help?

I have reviewed the photos you provided. The original connector has CANL/CANH pins. Normally, you should not connect the orange/red wires; the CANBUS output is the ACC power supply used to power the device.

I had the same issue on a VW T5 Transporter 2008. I think they have the same CANBUS platform.

I have tried Raise VW-RZ-08 and VW-RZ-58 (multiple devices with different software and hardware version), and all of them have the same behavior: In general, they work just fine. Steering wheel, back gear, light switch, ... works as expected. But the Ignition signal, which is required by Dudu to switch on the radio is not forwarded.

I recently found some firmware updates (AFAIK May or June 2025) for Raise, but I haven't had time yet to test them.

I fixed the issue by replacing the Raise with a HiWorld VWFA.20. According to the documentation it is not perfectly supported by Dudu, but it works. And actually, the VW T5 doesn't expose much information through CANBUS anyway, so it doesn't really matter.

I think you have the wrong adapter. But I'm not 100% sure. I have a T5.2, the facelifted station wagon, and I use the following adapter. And it works perfectly. And exactly as it should be.

dudu-lai Thanks, but what should I do? If i disconnect the orange and red cables, I have no power. What is with the two cables you have marked in the picture?
Could it be that the canbus decoder is Not working? Can I Check this?

mikkalang The two wires shown in the diagram are the CAN bus. The CANBUS box uses these two wires to obtain information such as steering wheel control buttons, door information, vehicle speed, and steering wheel angle. It also obtains the ignition signal so that it can output 12VAC power to the devices when the car starts.

dudu-lai thanks! So that means, that the decoder do Not work. Because I don’t have power if i unplug the red and orange cables. Is there an Option to Check if it‘s on the decoder?

duchchdu @dudu-lai Hi, I just received the new Raise VW-RZ-58 2508 decoder but it still do not work. The DUDU7 do not start when I start the ignition. For my Multivan T5 from 2006 the steering wheel and all other things do not work. Now I've ordered your recommended HiWorld VWFA20. Hope that this will work...

my 2017 vw t6 also mutes volume when pressing the voice button on steering wheel ....volume and tarck skip works ok though ..will this firmware make the voice assistant work ?

@dudu-lai After installing the new decoder and Quadlock wiring harness, I occasionally get the following strange behavior. I did not connect the red/orange cable, so the Dudu7 is controlled only via CAN. When I switch on the car’s ignition, the Dudu sometimes turns on and off repeatedly. However, when I start the engine, it turns off.

mikkalang This appears to be a faulty wiring harness connection or an intermittent ACC output failure in the CANBUS box.
In the host computer's settings - CANBUS - Startup Settings - Perform Operations After Power Off - Set the ACC Disconnect Delay to 5 seconds. Try this and see if it resolves the issue.

I’ve now run a few more tests. The steering wheel buttons work, and the switch to night mode also works when I turn on the lights. I need an initial power signal (via the red/orange wire). When I disconnect it afterward, the navigation unit stays on for as long as I’ve set the automatic shutdown timer. So the only thing the navigation unit is missing is the initial CAN bus signal to power on.

The radio that was installed before (the original Blaupunkt VW navigation unit) had an on/off button and could also be operated without the ignition (no CAN bus igniton signal needed).

I‘ve ordered two other decoders from HiWorld and Luzheng as also other users reported the same issues with Raise Decoder and the older T5 models. Will test this and report later when they have arrived.

mikkalang Okay, Raise has an RZ-VW-51 CANBUS box for older cars.

You can try that if you can find it.

The problem is solved with a Hiworld or Luzheng decoder . Both are working correctly. Raise decoder do Not work for the T5 2006!
