Mikescotland Perhaps your car brand can, but 99% of vehicles do not support transmitting identical data to two OBDs simultaneously unless different data streams are transmitted separately.
If both OBDs read the same data—such as RPM, coolant temperature, etc.—only one can function while the other will display no data.
I've been working with OBD systems for quite some time now, and I haven't encountered a single car capable of transmitting identical data streams to two OBD ports simultaneously. It only works with two entirely different OBD functions—for example, one OBD port for automatic window/door locking and anti-theft, while the other reads engine data.
If a car comes factory-equipped with two OBD ports, it might be possible. However, using an adapter to split one port into two cannot simultaneously read engine data.
