Mikescotland josephhung doesn't it that port for power delivery not storage? Have a similar usb hub and one of the Usb c is a power delivery input to power all usb sockets and possibly charge a connected device.
josephhung Mikescotland Yes… That’s port is power delivery… but didn’t know why an extension cable cannot mount t the drive. It can mount when I plug in iphone with that cable
Mikescotland josephhung except power delivery input, all of other usb inputs including usbc work. Power delivery isn't guaranteed usually to work flawlessly with storage (depending on quality of the Usb hub of course).
josephhung Mikescotland I have an extension cable … If I just use the cable alone with the thumb drive attach to the end. It didn’t recognize my thumb drive, but if I use the same set and insert into my iphone. No issue at all. It is not related to the usb hub at all.
Mikescotland josephhung well then you have an answer, something is wrong with the extension cable. I have hooked my usbc with quality extension (it's in the glove box, ca 40 cm long) and no problem whatsoever.
surfer63 Note also that the power from the USB-A ports is very limited while the USB-C port delivers much more power (4x or 5x). If you want to connect an unpowered hub, make sure you connect it to the USB-C port on the back side.
Mikescotland surfer63 I'd take it very cautiously with Dudu, they don't specify what's the max amps from the usbc. It might be literally on the max 1A side.. I know, usbc specs, but fyt and Dudu might be a completely different story..
DUDU-Meng josephhung Why did you come up with so many reasons but never suspect your extension cord might be the problem? Plugging it in directly works fine, but using the extension causes issues—it's pretty obvious.
josephhung DUDU-Meng it turn out is that the contact of the dudu7 usb c port and the cable is quite poor and wiggle a lot .everytime when i put back the head unit into the tiny space with many wire behind , the port will become loose again. And i think i need to use tape to mount the cable securely to the port.
Dmc2008 Hi Guys, anyone try the type C to HDMI converter? Just wondering if I can use this port for rear monitor. I’m currently using the usb A port to RCA, but it’s laggy and low res image quality. Thanks BR Daniel
josephhung Dmc2008 I have been using a usb c hub that have hdmi output, I just tried to connect it to my TV and it’s fine
