So I have a 9.5" Dudu 7 with OS 3.6. I am having an issue with the GPS. Basically what is going on is after my vehicle has been sitting for several hours to all night. I start my vehicle and the GPS signal does not connect. Sometimes it will but most of the time it does not. I say 1-5 to 2-5 times it will connect. If I drive my vehicle all around town for 10 minutes, 30 minutes or even 1 hour it still won't connect. Now if my vehicle has been sitting for several hours to all night and I start it and the GPS has not connected, I can turn the vehicle off for about 1 minute and then restart my vehicle and then it will obtain a GPS signal. This issue happens weather I am connected to the internet or not. And for reference I have my phone set up with tasker that when the Bluetooth on my phone connects to the DUDU head unit then my hotspot on my phone turns on.
My GPS antenna is attached at the top of my windshield. The cord is facing down and the top of GPS antenna is facing the headliner of my vehicle.
So first thing is I want to if anyone has any ideas as to why I'm having issues getting a GPS signal from a cold sleep boot.
The second thing is I wanted to see if it worth maybe investing in an external GPS antenna, as it may be having issues getting the signal. If it worth doing that, what frequency's and bands should I be looking for when I make my purchase?
Last thing is more of a question. I thought if you are connected to the internet on a device, that device could also use the internet to get a GPS location? If so do the DUDU head units not support this?
