Digital out sampling rates

abidali don't get me wrong, spdif "pass through" is still so far the best on the market (S/N over 120dB, THD 0.002%) compared to other units. However, the resampling is killing it all.
It's not easy to bypass 48kHz in newest androids, however, Dudu could use their own high res stack for spdif (and route as a separate device in mixer), not "speaker output".

No conversion/resampling etc of Optical Out. This is simply a matter of coding and competitors have done this.
Why do no navigation commands/phone calls etc output via USB audio? THIS MAKES NO SENSE.
Why can't the DUDU share my phone internet connection when it is connected via USB? This is the best connection for high res audio streaming. You can't suggest that this unit is focussed on high quality audio if the functionality is destroyed by using the best streaming connection.

I need to get an answer on this as I am seriously considering returning this unit and posting widely about my very substandard experience.

Regarding 3rd - I have no problems with usb Internet sharing from an android phone. Turned it on on the mobile phone, and Dudu took happily the Internet over usb without any problem.

Sean this issue to prevent Android Audio Mixer (AudioFlinger) needs serious attention, perhaps a custom audio stack needed for truly bypass android from altering audio signal.

Currently, all navigation systems on the market use similar solutions. If you truly try to bypass Android resampling, you'll end up with a navigation system with no volume adjustment or mixing capabilities, significantly reducing product usability. Our goal is to maximize usability, reduce internal audio processing steps, and ensure near-lossless audio output.
Bluetooth phone calls use analog channels and cannot be output digitally.
This has already been addressed in another post.
If a competitor outperforms us, and you've verified it, not just hearsay, we'll conduct in-depth research and study it.

Thanks Mike. Must be an iPhone thing but I find it hard to believe that Dudu can't find a work around to this problem. I mean the internet connection clearly works within the CarPlay environment but does not function outside of the Car Link App even if the App continues to run in the background. There must be a way to code around this issue...

abidali can be done. See NVidia shield. Outputs 44.1, 48, 96, 192 kHz on hdmi out depending on file played..
Suggestion would be very simple, create a pipeline with displayport output or something else (usbc dudu) with variable sampling rate and switch it the menu to divert all audio to this output (or not) instead having usbc audio without any other sound mixed in (navi, phone).

However, note and note well, that this issue has been raised numerous times in different ways during normal business hours over an extended period and DuduAuto have failed to adequately reply.

Thank you for your reply. I do like what you are saying you are trying to achieve. But I don't think that the unit will lose functionality whatsoever by resolving the Android sampling issue. See this excerpt from post above:

It references USB output but that could easily be made Optical Out for argument's sake.

Question regarding phone calls being routed to USB -if the iphone is connected via wifi hotspot then will phone call audio be passed via USB? It certainly is passed via Optical when either tethered via USB or Wifi so it's being converted to digital somewhere.

DUDU-HUANG Why not adding an option to bypass android resampling/mixer for those who wants them? Give them warning messages that it will not control volume or calls won't work as the message with USB Audio out.

All of the digital outputs are configurable in all currently used bitrates and in 24 bit depth.
I wonder if there is just a hardware design flaw and it's just connected to AKM DSP via analogue output instead of digital...
I understand that Bluetooth audio / calls instead of going to the android mixer before DSP, are connected as a separate "addon" to the analogue ADC in the AKM DSP bypassing completely normal pipeline for any digital sources. Looks like a big platform drawback...

Sean The USB output currently has no way to adjust the volume or process the sound mix, so navigation and music cannot exist at the same time.

Sean CarPlay audio is transmitted via a Bluetooth channel. The Bluetooth audio channel is an analog channel and cannot be merged into a digital channel unless the hardware and software links are reconfigured. Otherwise, this cannot be achieved.

Mikescotland Theory often seems feasible, but actually doing it is another matter. The Android radio industry has been developing for more than 10 years. If it is really as simple as you said, why can't the brands on the market achieve it?
