• Speed Unit: KPH - MPH

Hi all,

Something which is not yet available in DUDUOS is the ability to change the speed unit, taking into account localisation, certain countries only use MPH which makes some of the built in features useless and unused.

I believe this would be a great benefit to DUDUOS/AUTO adding an ability to change the speed unit across certain built in areas.

The following calculation would be used to covert the numbers:

KPH x 0.621371 = MPH

Maybe a toggle would work for this? The data can either be pulled from the Car settings app if that’s at all possible or somehow use the above calculations..

My apologies if this has been posted in the wrong part of the forum, but given the post explaining the area, I’ve assumed this is the correct place.

After receiving your feedback, we will study how to implement it

It's in our plans, we'll adapt it.

Thanks so much for all your work so far and for including this in your plans. I just want to bump this thread to see if there has been any progress. I'm running DUDU 3.5 on DUDU7 and don't have this option. Thanks!

      Hi 👋,

Yeh there definitely has been progress, and done not long after my original post, the toggle to change from kph to mph can be found in:

      settings | other | gps

There is still work to be done to integrate this fully across all Dudu apps, but the pip areas such as in my first post and the newest minimalist mode have been adapted to use mph.

CHR12345 thank you! I see it now. For now, it seems to only change instantaneous speed to mph. Average speed, trip distance, total milage, and max speed in the vehicle condition widget still display in kilometers and k/h. I'm looking forward to the ongoing progress!

I just installed my DUDU7 unit with the latest OS and I see the mph/kph toggle switch in Setup-Other-GPS-Speed Unit. I set my head to mph, but the speed indicator on the DVR dash cam is still km/h.

Are there plans to update the DUDU-ADAS 2K DVR to use this information for the onscreen display? If so, any estimate on when that update will be pushed out?

I also would love to see mph in the 2k ADAS app. It's hard to understand how this OS as developed as it is and up to 3.5 is still not including mph and fahrenheit in all the inbuilt apps.

The Dudu reverse camera also only displays km/h and the number does not change but remains at zero no matter the car speed.

I would agree that it has very little utility, or overall value, especially when compared to the front facing ADAS speed recording, however from a user satisfaction standpoint, if the function doesn't work, it shouldn't be displayed as an option to the customer.

I don't even have one app that I use that correctly displays mph. It's really hard to believe so much that I had to go back and double check the gps setting to make sure it was set to mph as I was typing this message.
