Canbus box always breaks

Hello,

My brother-in-law has the Dudu7, just like me. He also has a T5.2, just like me. But his CANbus box breaks every time he installs new firmware.

He's already got the second CAN-bus box connected, and now it's not working again. He says all the steering wheel buttons work at first, then they all stop working at once, and then eventually they work again.Now he's updated to 3.6E, and the software version is showing "Canbus unknown box" again. It can't be that the Canbus box breaks every time. He uses VW /PQ /Low as protocol

What's the problem? The same thing happened back then, from firmware 3.5 to 3.6, and now again from 3.6 to 3.6E.

Blackbandt There are two possible reasons why an "Unknown CANBUS Box" message might appear: 1. The CANBUS box is not transmitting its version information to the head unit. 2. The CANBUS box has lost communication with the aftermarket head unit's 8P serial port (the plug is loose/disconnected).
First, check for malfunctioning steering wheel buttons and door and steering wheel angle information. If none of these work, check for a loose 8P serial port or try replacing the CANBUS box in your vehicle. If the CANBUS information is partially normal, the problem may lie with the head unit's system.

dudu-lai So I just spoke to my brother-in-law on the phone. He tried all your suggestions. He unplugged all the cables and plugged them back in properly. He also checked the cables for damage. But the cables, etc., are all intact. He also reconnected the old CANbus box, but regardless of whether it's the old or new CANbus box, it always says "unknown CANbus box.

What can we do now? A Dudu7 that breaks the CANbus box every time isn't so nice.

We understand that Dudu7 isn't perfect yet and occasionally has minor issues. But the basic functions should work.

Even though I don't think this will help, I just don't understand why it always happens after an update.

Do you have a recommendation for a Canbus box I can buy on AliExpress? How can I be 100 percent sure that it's not the Canbus box that's causing the issue?

I have Same issue.

Yesterday my Canbus box worked and it showed AU-RZ-01 in Control Panel and SWC worked. Today i get in Car it Shows Unknown-Canbox-Version and nothing works. I restarted the Dudu but still nothing.
My Car Audi A4 8ED 2007
IDK why its such a big Problem to get a Basic thing to work. 🙁

oxy93n I can't help you either, but it's good to know we're not the only ones with this problem.

My brother-in-law says exactly the same thing. One minute the buttons on the steering wheel work, and then the next they stop working. Without him having changed anything. Then there was an unknown CAN-bus box, so we bought a new one. It worked again for a short while, and then the same problem occurred. Now it no longer says "unknown canbus box" but a version number, as it should be. But still, nothing works.

oxy93n Usually it is a problem with the CANBUS box. The DUDU itself has not been modified and it will not fail to receive the CANBUS signal for no reason.
