There is a new bug with the most recent 3.6 update. Regular phone calls through CarPlay( meaning a cellular phone call ) work fine, and voices can be heard for the caller and the person receiving the call. If you call or receive a call in CarPlay, but it’s a FaceTime audio or video call, I can hear the other person speaking, but they can’t hear me. This never happened on the previous update. On the OS 3.5, I could hear the caller and person receiving the call could hear me regardless if it was a FaceTime audio call or a regular cellular call coming through CarPlay.

This is a known bug. The latest test system has already fixed this issue. Please be patient and wait.

DUDU-Meng I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I’m following the online instructions of how to do a local update, but I keep getting the following in this screenshot. Can you please give me a more detailed description of going about installing this update. I mean I’m not stupid when it comes to extracting files then installing them. There has to be something not explained in installation instructions.

For whatever reason my unit keeps giving me the screenshot that I sent you in in my previous message. Is it possible that file you shared with me is either corrupt, isn’t the whole file, or is not for the right unit? I have the DUDU7. I even tried downloading from the link to the radio itself, and it gives me that screenshot that’s pictured above in previous message. Is it possible that my unit is missing something in the system files that tells it to automatically start the update when I put the jump drive in? Does the jump drive need to be named something specific for it to work right? Or does the file need to be called something specific? I’m really at a loss here 🤷‍♂️ I have no idea what is going on. Also here’s a picture of my system screen. Not sure if this helps at all.

This firmware has been tested by many people and upgraded normally, so it must be that you made a mistake in the operation. Since this operation is very simple, I don't understand how you could have messed it up.

DUDU-Meng I finally figured it out. When I was creating the jump drive I didn’t pull the files out of the sub folders first, so all that was on the jump drive were strictly files and the compressed bin file. I think maybe that should be updated in the instructions that are given on the forum for beta updates and patches like this, because the way it’s described is that all you have to do is extract the 7z file to the jump drive and you’re good to go, which that’s not the case. As far as if the update worked, I’m not sure yet. I had to get all my settings back the way I wanted them first tonight, which took a little time. So tomorrow I’ll check to see if FaceTime audio calls work, and then give you an update on whether it worked or not.

DUDU-Meng so I read the other post where another user was having the same issue as I was having with FaceTime audio. You first suggested downloading a Carlink APK for him to test, and then suggested to download the firmware that you told me to download. Do I need that newer version of Carlink APK too for everything to work properly? Cause maybe that’s where I’m having the issue. Cause the firmware I was able to install finally, but it still didn’t fix FaceTime audio call issue.

Finally fixed

I tried re-downloading the complete 7z file again, extracted it to my computer, then copied the extracted files to my jump drive. The one thing I did differently was I deleted the factory reset folder before attempting the update through the usb jump drive. Either my original file that I downloaded somehow became corrupt, or the factory reset folder files were somehow not allowing me to finish the update process. Long story short it’s finally fixed. Thank you for sticking with me throughout the process.
