renato Dear all, Is it possible to send information to a Home Assistant server via MQtt using this launcher? If this is not possible, would it be very difficult to implement?
Mikescotland Depending on what data you want, you can install android home assistant companion app on the head unit and you'll have all data from the car available to home assistant. Speed, fuel, rev all is available. Plus all android sensors as well.
renato Mikescotland I don't understand. Can I install the Home Assistant app on the unlocked unit? What would that app be? Would I be able to send all the battery information, etc., to my Home Assistant server? I can't believe it's that easy! My God! lol
Mikescotland renato https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.homeassistant.companion.android you can install it on DUDU headunit. Provided DUDU has all info from the car, it should go to your home assistant server. You'd need to activate the sensors in the app settings. Haven't tried it but I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work.
Mikescotland renato Ok. So did some tests are this is what works: Instal Torque app on your headunit (you can then create an automation for turning it on when HU starts and disable when off) Install and configure HA app on the HU (turn on the Car sensors). Of course HU must be connected to internet via SIM card or WiFi All details from Torque (matching the HA sensor) are available in the HA Server at home. Good luck!
renato Mikescotland Thank you for your patience and good will! So I can know how much battery power there is, if it is charging, etc. Great!! Thank you!!!
