USA Dudu7 Sim help.

Ok so ive read all the threads i could find on this topic here and i couldnt fix the issue.

This is a tello sim card. Others have used this sim on the dudu7 with success. The card is recognized by the dudu and i have signal bars. Data is also saying connected but im not getting any data to use. Any help or ideas?

Please check if the APN is correct. If it is incorrect, please manually set the APN corresponding to the SIM card.
Also, is the PIN disabled?

DUDU-Meng how do i find out if the apn is correct? How do i find out the sims apn? A few others mwntioned this sim works in usa. In the thread they did not mention disabling a pin. I dont have another device i can put the sim in to check.

Go here to check if the APN is the same as your SIM card. You can ask your SIM card provider for the APN.

Still not data even tho bars are full and everything says connected.

You can insert this SIM card into your mobile phone. If you can access the Internet normally, check the correct APN for this SIM card on your mobile phone and write it down.
Set the same APN on DUDU7 and test it.

DUDU-Meng the sim slot on my s24 ultra is much smaller then the sim slot on the dudu7. If i break tello sim down smaller i dont think the dudu sim slot will accept it.

The small card in the middle of your SIM card can be removed.

DUDU-Meng i dont know how but it is working now. After getting in my car and starting drive it connected. I did not need to disable any pin. Huge thank you for trying to help. 🤝 I am very happy to be able to use android auto and recieve data for other apps and widgets at the same time. YES i use android auto.

Another question about usa sim card.

Does the sim have to be data only, does it matter if the sim gets its own phone # and supports calls and text? Also does the sim have to be 4g only and not 4g/5g capable? Most newer sims support both.

This is a new verizon sim card and im having trouble where it works and connects to 4g… but man it takes forever to connect and use data. Sometimes over 15 mins for 4g to show up.

Skillzo1 I am having the same exact problem. It takes minutes for the data to kick in after the head unit wakes from sleep. The data still randomly turns off which has been affecting music and navigation.

JhonnyD that is what i was looking for.

Same for 4g/5g question? I know the dudu doesnt do 5g data but if the sim supports 4g and 5g its fine correct? I will still get 4g connection which seems to be a yes.

Any idea why the verizon sim takes so god awful long to connect and allow data usage? The signal says its good but no 4g symbol. After 15 minutes itll say 4g and work.

Different operators use different LTE frequency bands. Some pure data traffic cards may support only a limited number of frequency bands. DUDU does not support all frequency bands either.

Skillzo1 I am using a O2 card here in Germany. It is a 5G card but it is working in the DUDU7 with 4G.
When i drive to Denmark it even switches to 3G.
So yes, it is working.
@DUDU-Meng maybe we should make a thread which cards are working in different countries.

Lte bands… .

here in usa provider bands

AT&T: 2, 4, 5, 12, 14, 17, 29, 30, 66
Verizon: 2, 4, 5, 13, 46, 48, 66
T-Mobile: 2, 4, 5(not really), 12, 66, 71

JhonnyD i would love to see a regional section here where people from there own countries can share help on issues. Its hard to find correct information when certain things relate to your location. Example is this situation where alot of users cant relate to me because they dont have the same providers. Hope someone can chime in from the usa thats using or have tried a verizon sim to confirm they had have the same issue.

Im still a little confused because the tello sim that i am using runs off t mobile towers from what im seeing. It has no issues connecting/using data and only shares 2 of the same bands 2&5. One of them being not really. There are a few ACCESS POINT NAMES ( APN ) that this sim associates with.

Now the verizon sim on the other hand uses the same 2 bands 2&5. It connects showing signal bars but no 4g shows. I cant use data. 15 min later 4g pops up and im able to use data but it doesnt seem reliable and drops the 4g signal only to search again taking forever to allow data usage. There is only 1 apn associated with the verizon sim.

For anyone that wants to see i uploaded a video showing the difference swapping out the sims on the spot. The difference here is $25 a month tello vs $10 month verizon. Both inlimited data. Verizon is my home internet and cell phone provider. This is why i really want to get the verizon sim to work if possible.
