I had that problem, I found a slider that was power to speakers, it was at max. I put it half way and that sorted the problem.

Skillzo1 Those installers have probably not used some better Androids, they just think a boxy 7 inch Pioneer is better without even using sode by side.

With DUDU7, I don't have to use my phone except Hotspot. My navigation and music app runs side by side on one screen, which those name brands don't offer except some emulation layer called carplay/android auto.

I have front JBL Stadium 3ohm components and rear 6x9 JBL coaxials and this unit sounds great. This all comea down to the sensitivity of the speakers, if they are 90db+ then there shouldn't be an issue. JBLs are high sensitive speakers.

Well thats why i went with this unit. Reviews state its the best android unit to date. I really want this unit to change his mind.

Im going to try all the recommended solutions in this thread till i find one that works.

I have my aftermarket speakers (2-way component, 70 W RMS, 4 Ohm) connected directly to the headunit (no external amplifier) plus an additional active subwoofer.
The sound is great and can get really loud.
Here are my settings in 3.6, German language but I think you will find the corresponding settings.

robdx2 i figured id revisit this post as i added this exact amp to the car. It did help alot. HOWEVER sadly i think im going to remove it. The ammount of engine noise feedback thru the speakers would drive me insane. Unless im playing the volume very loud all the time i can hear it. If im not playing any music at all it hums and has white noise the entire time. Its very annoying. It also pops the speakers and sub when i shut the car down.

Have you experienced this? After searching the forum for the issue there are reports of this with no real fix. You can troubleshoot so many things and it will remain. Sucks cause it definatly did help with making volume louder. But man its at an annoying cost for me or white noise and enhine interference comming thru the speakers with a loud pop when turning on and off.

Skillzo1 no wonder. These amps should be avoided, as they have high input only and of course amplify dirt as well. Amps should use RCA at least, better ones support optical or USB outputs offered on Dudu7.

gismo do u have any recommendations? Not looking to spend alot of $ and trying to avoid a crazy install. Its really not that needed. Anything plug and play?

The amp which is in the link is a crap as hell. Uses Toshiba IC which is max 10W per channel as per datasheet without distortion. Above 15-20W to "advertised" 45W per channel throws distortion that are above 10%. This IC is just a few watts above what DUDU has on board.
Connecting it to high level outputs of the headunit will always amplify all noise present on speaker outputs plus add whatever noise this "gem" has.
If you really need to use it, there are volume regulators on it, adjust them first after connecting, to the point where noise is bearable or non existent and then play something to see it there is any gain in overall volume (probably very minor without the noise as the output wattage of this amp isn't something to be proud of).
Engine noise (not "constant white bits) noise" in the speakers says more about bad power wires to the headunit and amplifier, especially ground connection. This should be looked into first.
That amp as per IC spreadsheet works with speakers 4 Ohm. Pioneers etc work fine with 2 Ohms usually, worth checking what you've got.
Overall, you're adding a seriously crap amplifier to the output and trying to achieve a miracle.
If you need to add anything, try Pioneer, Recoil or even Vibe inline class D amplifier, they have real power RMS output of minimum 40W per channel and some of them accept RCA low level from the headunit and nicely fit into dashboard (very small footprint).

Its not that lol. I knew id get that from someone. Before adding the amp i didnt get any of it. Not with dudu headunit, and not with pioneer headunit. The pioneers built in amp had enough power that i fidnt need an amp for the in cabin speakers. The dudu did not. It wasnt horrible but it wasnt great either. It just needed a little bit more juice. Im not running anything crazy in my car. No need for that with me and the car i daily drive. I really didnt want to spend too much $ on this setup and go thru an entire process of adding amps and running more wires.

Skillzo1 Adding any amp or anything else in the audio path in the car equals almost every time running again ground wires. Headunit power supply in the dash is notoriously known for bad ground. Solution is very easy and cheap. Cut the ground from headunit, provide ground to the headunit and amp from the thicker ground cable bolted to a metal frame somewhere near. Amp and HU must use the same point of ground to eliminate engine noise.

I also side with other people - either your HU is broken or something is seriously misconfigured. Even at 10W of clean power which is easily achieved by Dudu, in a car it's a lot of sound.

Skillzo1 haven't been in the market for a while. No need, my Dudu7 is easily loud enough on my speaker system and can drive 30Hz with umph so all good.

Sounds like a personal configuration problem then lack of power from the head unit. My radio volume control is set at 7, and anything higher then 15 is too loud. Just running stock speakers in my 2011 shit box. Maybe once the new OS is released with individualized volume settings it'll help you with the AA handshake.

picasso1850 personal configuration as far as what? Software adjustments????? The software can be there but if the hardware isnt capable then thats it.

If your refering to personal configuration as far as hardware…then id reply, its the same exact setup my previous pioneer had. Exactly the same except the new added amp. The dudu simply did not have the built in power the pioneer had to power the same interior speakers. Hense adding the amp… which now i hear all the noise/hum/popping.

Maybe I have a solution for you. Provided you are willing to put up with the effort.

Take a look at the ESX Qs power amplifier. Or if you want a little more power. You can also take a look at the ESX qm two. This gives you enough power for your front system and these power amplifiers are very small

Are you saying that even the radio needs to be set to 36 and even then you can barely hear it? Or is the radio loud sounding at 10?

picasso1850 again it wasnt horrible but it wasnt great either. Turned all the way up to 36 left more to be desired. It just wasnt fullfilling.
Maybe our level of satisfaction is different.

Anything below 20 seemed to be a waste of volume level because it just wasnt really there. I found my self casually driving with volume levels almost near the top just to hear something.

Everybody in here saying at 15 is too loud… then i really dont know what to say. Cause that is not the case with myself and some others.

I want to be clear… i am not bashing this unit. I even told my installer who is against android units… that i am happy with what the unit can do. It does everything i want it to do app wise because its a full android unit. Im not limited to android auto altho i do use aa.

That being said it does have its drawbacks and bugs. Im sure some of this can be tied to user error and learning the os. As far as the sound… it def left more to be desired without the amp. With the amp its fine i just cant deal with the sounds that come with it. Which leads me to pick my poison… live with less then desired sound or hear all the noises that come with it.

In my 4runner i have a sony xav 8500… im nowhere near needing an amp for the inside cabin speakers. The sony handles them amazingly. I am running an amp only for the jl audio sub.

Mikescotland I'll try this. My Pioneer amp is jn the trunk and ground point is also there using 4awg wire. Can I take an 18awg wire from the same point where amp is grounded and connect to HU?

Should I cut the black wire and connect it to the ground point or keep it connected to the wire harness and ground the head unit from amp ground to the HU body using a screw?

I get alternate whine. My head unit output clean signals tested using oscilloscope but amplifier output is not clean, it's not clipping but jagged lines shows interference. While subwoofer channel output clean wave at HU as well as at subwoofer channel output from the amplifier.

Skillzo1 I measure questions again. Are you talking about background noise when you have connected an amplifier via RCA?

If so, you can lay Gnd from the Dudu7 directly with a cable to Gnd the power amplifier. I know that it means an effort. But it may be that you get rid of the problems with it.

I myself am still thinking about installing an amplifier. My choice is then also one of the two ESX. But I would like to try it without an amplifier first
