  • Poor Volume cant enjoy the music!

So finally finished installing the dudu7. One of the issues im having is poor volume. I cant enjoy the music. Volume is all the way up but its still very low. This is with windows up. With the front windows half open i wouldnt be able to make out the words. My pioneer unit sounded much better/louder with the same exact equipment.

My equipment is nothing special. 4 aftermarket speakers inside the car with 1 amp powering the sub in the trunk. There is no canbus 2008 toyota corolla ce. The radio does sound a little bit louder but any media i play thru android auto is really bad.

Any ideas?

Skillzo1 changed the title to Poor Volume cant enjoy the music! .

Skillzo1 Unfortunately, I can't help you with the problem. But I noticed exactly the same thing. I also asked about the problem here but didn't get an answer. I also had a Pioneer device

Unter Soundbalsnce könnt ihr noch etwas Lautstärke herausholen.
Da mir das DUDU7 auch viel zu leise ist, nutze ich Root und Viper4android.
Ohne Root funktioniert es mit rootless jamesdsp

      I have it to 👍

JhonnyD I was very surprised how good it actually is

robdx2 its not horrible but its not enjoyable either. If that great song comes on and you wanna crank it it just doesnt get there for me.

Again this is being compared to higher end units to the likes of pioneer sony kenwood. I didnt need an external amp for the interior speakers. The built in amp on those units are much louder.

Again this is my opinion. Just wanna get the most out of my unit to enjoy it the way i intend.

robdx2 i will look into it. Thank you 🤝

            JhonnyD

I will look into it thank you.

JhonnyD Do you happen to have a picture where I can find the option? The translation makes it a little difficult to read.

Blackbandt i think he is maybe talking about this if your not rooted. Not sure how itll help tho.

robdx2 is that truely plug and play? What else is needed how does it connect?

My car radio fuse is only 15 amp..can the circuit handle all the load?

I take it you've got the output turned right up under settings/sound/audio output/speaker power regulation?

Mine is turned up to 490 (max on my Dudu7) and anything above 12 out of 30+ volume steps is way loud for me. My speakers are only 40W though.

If its already turned up all the way, do you know what ur speakers wattage is in RMS? They maybe under powered.

Failing that, I found certain settings in dts and/or lots of eq caused overall volume to decrease quite a bit. Now, in eq and advanced settings, I just have eq flat, sub gain up to max 10 and set high pass/low pass filter so that my speakers act as mid pretty much, tweeters for high and let the sub take the strain of most bass. Prevents door panel rattle too! Maybe it helps...

Oh and also under the 2nd set of advanced sound settings (lower down), I have loudness set to on, to enable bass/treble freqs at lower to come thru

Hmm, my bad, I have got dts enabled 4.1 and volume output is still good

reg66 honestly i dont know what my installer/tuner set things at. Alls i can say and ive said it before is that with over 30 years and 1000s of installs… he knows what hes doing. I know nothing about anything what you just said. I just take this info i gather here and pass it to him. Im more the software guy to figure out how the os works.

I wanted this unit for what it was able to do over android auto. My installer is against any android hu because of stuff like this. They just dont have the quality and power over name brands like pioneer etc.

That being said i am happy with what this android unit can do. It has its annoyances and bugs but overall it does what i need/want it to do. But thats not good if i cant hear what im doing lol.

I will tinker myself with what you mentioned.

The front 2 are mb quart… .per their manual.
Power Handling - The RMS Power Handling of these speakers operate at 60 Watts and Peak Power Handling at 120 watts. With Speaker Impedance of 4 OHMS, these speakers bring the sound system in your car to life.

My 2 rear are pioneer… dont have the specs on those right now.

I had the same problem, I put the equalizer back to factory settings and the volume came back, now I'm careful about what I set.

Yes, I already have it on 490. Nevertheless, I still find it quiet. I will buy a power amplifier and try to compensate for it with it.

What I find very strange is the following thing.

When I listen to normal music, everything sounds so flat and thin. There is little bass. But as soon as I turn up the volume there is also a lot of bass. As if you had activated bass boost all at once. I find that very strange. I hope with the power amplifier the problem is gone

Skillzo1 Completly plug and play, I think my radio system fuse is only 10 amp and it works great. If you see the picture i posted above it comes with the cable shown in the picture. All you do is remove your power plug thats in your dudu unit and plug into one end of the dsp, then plug one end of the cable shown in picture into the other end of the dsp then other end of cable in picture back into dudu unit

Vehicle wiring > dudu wiring harness > dsp amp > dsp amp cable > dudu unit

robdx2 HUGE THANK YOU. I think ima have to try it. 😁🍻🤝
