I have a 2015 Toyota Corolla S with a failing OEM head unit and recently have been researching replacements. The DUDU7 is intriguing but there is information I desire before making a decision. My car is a non-jbl version and I cannot find any information on a canbus decoder for my make/model.
I noticed another post on this forum say if the model specific head unit (on amazon) did not come with a can bus decoder then it is not needed, but I also looked at other manufacturers with similar head units that in fact did come with a decoder. All of this is new to me but I jumped in the rabbit hole, and there is no turning back now.
My main question is, do I need a decoder? If I do then which one do I need, if not then why do other units need one?
I would like to retain as many OEM configurations as possible. Any added information on anything related to this subject is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!
