My bad I hadn't seen this until now. No, I absolutely did not get this to work in my Escape! Ultimately there was nothing I could do to bypass the SONY amp and nothing I could do to get the DUDU7 to power that amp on. Due to all the proprietary Ford software and hardware going on in there, the amp seems to be the only thing that could provide power to the speakers. And if the DUDU7 (or the CANBUS) can't power on that amp, you got no sound unfortunately.
I was very hopeful for this head unit but sadly I had to shelf it and take a rare L on stereo installs. I will say that the device functionality itself is great. (For the record, I did get DUDU7 to power on, I just couldn't get the sound to work due to the above). Since I was still troubleshooting the audio I didn't use it a ton but what I did use seemed to be very decent quality. The screen looked great! I like the interface and everything seemed well put together with the software. It was accessible and easy to use while still leaning toward enthusiast/tinkerer level of options and stuff you can do with it once properly linked to your car.
But there lies the unfortunate issue. I was never able to properly link it and here it sits on the shelf in my garage. I'm not sure about this new CANBUS box that @dudu-lai is recommending, I don't believe I received this one when it was released. I hope you have found a way to get this to be functional with the SONY amp (besides replacing your whole speaker system, which I believe is an option). If you did, let me know, very curious.
