  • Add support for SimpleSoft RP5-SU-001/SU-SS-01 Canbus Decoder

[Moved this thread from the DUDU OS section]

Hi,

I've installed a DUDU7 headunit in my Subaru Forester 2016 XT with a SimpleSoft RP5-SU-001 Canbus Decoder as my trim has a Harman Kardon sound system.
Although some of the functionalities are working fine (speakers, backup camera) , the assignment of the steering wheel controls is not correct & also the headlights are not being read by the OS; the day/night theme is not controlled by the car.

After doing some research, it seems like DUDUOS 3.5 is not supporting the SimpleSoft RP5-SU-001 Canbus Decoder. In a competitor's website where they sell this Canbus decoder, they do list the type of decoder to select, which is not available in DUDUOS 3.5:

Is there anyway for the support of this decoder to be added? Let me know if you knew more info; I'll be glad to help.

My regards,

If you go into canbus vehicle settings and select Type 1 mine was set to type 2 when i first got it and had the same issues as you are having.

Hi. This solved the issue for most of the streering wheel controls! The menu button doesn't do anything but that's okay for now. Big Thanks!!

Another thing: the Night/Day themes still can't be controlled by the car through. Where you able to make it work?

I have an outback 17 so it’s probably a bit different, but yes it can but I don’t bother I just use the night day button, as it’s annoying if you need lights on in the day time.

falstaff In “Android Settings” - “Display” - “Backlight Control”, is it the light or the time that is selected?
It needs to be selected as light

dudu-lai it is set to "Lamp". There's no "Light" in that menu:

          falstaff

          Already set to light
In “Settings” - “Desktop” - “Day/Night Switch”, select “Light Switch” and set the “Day/Night Theme”.
If it does not take effect, measure whether G4 of the DUDU G connector is connected to the light switch.

I've already tested setting the “Light Switch” to “Day/Night Theme”. It has no effect. For now I manually use the Day Night button as recommended by @UK_mook.

G4 is connected to the Canbus decoder. See the green line I've drawn in the photo below:

falstaff Can you measure if there is a switch cable for the lights on the stock connector? Connect it to G4.
