  • Implement variable fan speed

Currently the fan is either full on or off. This makes it pretty annoying when it turns on. It would be MUCH better if there was a fan speed curve.

For example:
50 degrees C - fan at 10%
60 degrees C - fan at 25%
70 degrees C - fan at 50%
80 degrees C - fan at 100%
That's only an example to illustrate the idea. Even better would be a continuous curve where the fan started at a certain temp (e.g. 50 degrees C) and steadily increased in speed as temp rises.

Fan does not support speed control
It is fixed speed, only on/off

Stock fan dimensions are 40x40x10mm? 3 pin or 4 pin? 🙃

    2pin

Aegwyn11 depending on the fan, its speed relates to the voltage or PWM signal.
In first case lower voltage = lower speed in second it's adjusted different way. I don't think that it will be easy to achieve.

For the next hardware revision, a proper PWM controlled fan would be a huge improvement over what's in there now.

In the meantime, I guess I'll just grab a low speed large Noctua fan and attach it behind the DUDU, wired into 12v acc. It'll run all the time the car is on but those fans are quiet enough that's a non-issue. Worst case, if it is annoying, I'll throw a simple 12V PWM controller back there too.

In my country it gets hot between april and september and i would like to change fan with new one.
Is size 40x40x10? Need info so i will not need to dismantle the unit twice....
      Found 3 pin: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B009NQLT0M/?th=1
I will convert it to 2 pin connector.
      This one is 40x40x10 mm, 12V, 3-Pin Molex, 4500/3700 RPM, max. 17,9 dB(A), >150.000 h MTTF

      Regards, Dusan

        Dusan111 Yes, 404010.
3pin can be connected to only 2pin
