  • Incoming/outgoing calls display no contact info

Incoming calls in 'recent' list do not display any contact information, just phone number, on Samsung Galaxy A71 Phone (SM-A716U).

contact list on dudu7 unit fully displays but does not show/transfer on incoming/outgoing calls.

At first I thought it was an issue with my galaxy watch interfering. Unlinked watch and ALL Bluetooth devices from phone and re-linked dudu7 unit through Bluetooth. Still no info from incoming calls/sometimes an outgoing call will show info but it's 1/20 if that.

I was running dudu 3.5 stock on the previous tests. I factory reset to dudu 3.6 beta1 and same issue. Then I factory reset to dudu 3.6 beta2 and same issue.

I borrowed my sisters phone (galaxy s23 running android 15) and tried, and it showed incoming calls and outgoing calls. So there is an issue between my Galaxy A71 Phone (SM-A716U) as well as A73 in relaying contact information to incoming calls. I don't know formatting of call lists or if there is some different way of exporting my contacts to the dudu unit to correct this issue. I would really like not to be forced into buying a flagship phone for this fix as this phone works perfect for what i do.

I also borrowed a friends OnePlus running android 15 and it worked as well.

My phone is running android 13, One UI 5.1.

    Let's analyze why

    MJM

    Check how the number is saved in your contact list on your phone, the number on DUDU shows + which means it’s being received with an area code.. check to make sure your contact number matches exactly.

    As an example, UK can use +44 or 0 followed by 10 further numbers.

    If these do not align, it’s possible the DUDU BT phone app may not recognise the number.

    I’ll test this tomorrow if I get a chance to confirm if I can replicate.

              I checked multiple contacts, I have some stored with 10 digits and some with 11, neither showed up

              this is my sons number, both in my contact list, shows in contact list on dudu unit, and neither showed info as incoming calls.

                  I changed '1-541-887-xxxx' to '+1-541-887-xxxx' and incoming/outgoing calls seem to work now, just need correct formatting.

                  Is there a way to remove or change the Chinese character in front of the time? I think that character translates to 'morning' could we get an AM/PM possibly?

                    It can be deleted. The next version of Bluetooth phone will fix this bug.

                        After you install the latest version, you can use this icon to update and sync your contacts to prevent the previous data from affecting the display.

                        sorry for the late reply, I was trying to install it. I have no idea how to install it.
                        I put the apk on root of a flash drive formatted in fat32.
                        I copied .apk to new folder 'btoothupdate' under local.

                        I tried localupdate under bluetooth update and got "Incorrect update file selected, please choose again":

                        this was not the apk you provided, need assistance on how to flash that .apk. My unit is Dudu7, i'm unsure if a 7870 firmware will work? thanks

                            There is an issue with the APK file, please try downloading it again.

                              The file size is 16 megabytes.

                              It's an APK file. Install it manually.

                              I tested this with the following numbers:
                              a google voice number: +1 541-887-xxxx
                              my sons main number: +1 541-880-xxxx
                              and my number tethered to unit with Bluetooth: +1 541-591-xxxx

                              I changed the formatting for 3 different tests in my contact info for these numbers. The first test I used the following formatting for the incoming numbers:
                              (541)887-xxxx
                              (541)880-xxxx
                              this formatting showed the name on both incoming calls, but the picture in contact info did not display.

                              this is still an issue if using a format outside of +1 xxx-xxx-xxxx. But I changed all of my numbers in contact list to fit this formatting, so I have no issues now. However, if you sell units to people inside the USA and they do not have their contacts formatted in this specific way, they will encounter this problem unless they change their contact formatting to match the +1 xxx-xxx-xxxx.

                              The AM/PM formatting is better than the chinese characters, is it possible to move the AM/PM after the time, and put a space after?
