  • Exploring the problem of popping sounds

VishBK You need to check the MCU version in the version information.

    dudu-lai MCU version: 2024.01.24 17:12:03 DUDUAUTO_53_L7870_N32P48F64_3G_E60_V:1.0

VishBK Have you not upgraded your MCU?
The version after successful upgrade should be: 2025.03.0715:53:15 DUDUAUTO_53_L7870_N32P48F64_E60_V:1.0

What are the steps to update? I selected the file in OTA Update->Offline MCU Update

VishBK The first post in the thread had a link attached to it, I thought you knew that, sorry
Extract the program to the root directory of the USB flash drive, plug it into the USB port of the radio and upgrade it automatically
        https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1QHfKsoY7tsgg4Bls8ezOjKWCTBwZ5NNy?usp=sharing

dudu-lai I did that but there is an update error: fork lsecxxxxupdate error!

VishBK Did you download DUDU7 MCU?
Please format the USB flash drive and try to download it again, and take a picture of the files in the USB flash drive for me to confirm.

After formatting the drive and trying again, the version updated and the fix worked. There is no longer a popping noise when starting after the head unit shuts down (but still there when manually rebooting) Thanks for the help.

VishBK Glad to have solved the shutdown reboot popping sound
Popping noise on manual reboot, engineers are working on this issue

dudu-lai I applied the software and this did not make any difference. The thumping noise is still taking place when you reboot the unit but also the audio output distortion are still taking place. I will share this as well on the chat group

McDudu Any improvements since your post to the quality sound? I have a HK system and am thinking of getting the head unit but seeing feedback like this is preventing me doing so and just sticking with OEM unit

I also have this popping sound on a Mazda CX5 2019. My unit is specific to my car which I have DuduOS3.6 beta 5 installed and the original Mazda OS.

Is it save to update with the Dudu MCU in this thread so I can give it a try?

                  My MCU

Are there any other improvements to this MCU besides the 5 sec amp delay?

jpapadami You will need to connect the AMP control wire to the DUDU's A connector AMP-C harness and update the MCU.

                      dudu-lai
Thanks for the support. Unfortunately I am unable to update the MCU with the provided one in this thread. And yes, I am using the correct Dudu 4/5/6 version as my unit is a 7862 based unit running official DuduOS 3.6 250515

Still doing install here. Removed previous pioneer unit with all 4 interior speakers working. Upon installing dudu7 heard crackling in all 4 interior speakers at low volumn.

Driver front speaker is now blown. Not saying dudu7 did it but definatly heard the crackling sound and now the speaker is confirmed blown. Pretty sure it worked when pulling pioneer unit.
2008 toyota corolla ce usa no canbus. Dudu7 10" 4 upgraded interior speakers. 2 in front driver & passenger by lower feet 2 in rear deck.

                        Fyi

jpapadami Did you purchase the device from the official DUDU or did you install DUDUOS on the 7862 public release?

                          dudu-lai
                          I installed the public release.

jpapadami The public version cannot update MCUs belonging to DUDU.

                              dudu-lai
                              Thank you for the info.

vos Yes, i have spent a lot of time trying different things and documenting the installation. one key aspect was that i confirmed the audio can be improved by controlling the Harman Kardon equalization via the CANBUS vehicle info app, and the Dudu7 internal amplifier power output via the advanced setting in the dudu7 soundstage (mixed of the two),. I created a detailed installation video series going over the installation process for Subaru Owners North America. and i am currently working on a walk through of the new 3.6 OS features. Search for Subaru Outback Dudu7 installation on youtube ..you would find a series of videos , where i documented the entire installation, you would hear a demo on the sound quality and basic Dudu7 (3.5 Dudu OS) functionality.
