• DUDU OS
  • Can't pair OBD Dongle with code 1234

Hi there,

I've a problem that i can't pair OBD Dongles, for using it in custom Application or directly for DUDUOS.
It seems that the problem is, that this dongle needs, if selected the code 1234 (as many others). But there is no place to give this code in. For me it seems, only OBD Dongles with authentication code 0000 will work?

The same dongle works flawlessly with my mobile phone, he asks for code, after enter 1234 it works.
In my case it's an VGATE iCar Pro 2S Dongle.

Is there any config file for that, or an update which is adressesd to this issue?

Thanks.

Is it connected using the VGATE iCar's own app?
It may be a compatibility issue.

no i don't use the own app from vgate.
But now, i found under system settings to pair it with a custom "key".
For now, it's okay for me, because i can use it for more advanced OBD Applications.
Integration for such ELM327 based OBD Adapter, to use it with the DUDUOS Launcher, would be great in the future...

Then you can connect it directly to the OBD function in the desktop settings.

I also have this OBD Vgate iCar. I can connect to Torque and other apps from the browser without any problems.
But I can't get it to connect or display information in the DUDU desktop apps.

Bladerunner666 where exactly you found the option to add custom key? I'm stuck with this too.

cifu You just can pair OBD adapter thats named OBDII.
        No Vgate.
I hope that FYT will find a way so we can pair every OBD2 adapter.

JhonnyD Sorry I mean where is that option to insert custom bluetooth password? My one is a Konnwei and it does not need a password however I can't find the setting where I can set a blank password.

JhonnyD Thanks buddy. Will try tomorrow.

I have the DUDU 6 and the setting to change the default bluetooth pairing pin was here:
Settings > Built-in App > BT Phone > Pairing Password

Or pair through the Android system settings, you can give the code there. I paired my vGate that way.

gismo And our Vgate is working with DUDU OS?
Please don't tell nonsense to people.
It is hard enough for some people to pair their ELM_327 adapter to show data via obd.
I have 2 different vgate here and i can't pair with vgate android just vgate ios, and this doesn't show data from obd in DUDU OS.
Maybe you should show us in a vidro?

In my case neither Dudu menu nor Android menu could pair konnwei obd dongle. Car Scanner App could successfully pair and connect it.

JhonnyD it works with 3rd party apps installed on DuduOS. It doesn't work with DuduOS' internal functionality. But it's paired and I understood the question to be related to pairing.

                  gismo understood.
