  • Cannot connect to IPhone hotspot

Evollove

This may not be what’s causing the issue, but worth a check…

Do you have the iPhone USB tether enabled on the headunit?

DUDU Settings - Vehicle - Factory Settings (passcode 108) - USB

If that is enabled, the headunit is looking for a USB connection for the hotspot…

When I had this enabled, the WiFi hotspot wouldn’t show as connected, some apps wouldn’t load such as Apple Music, indicating no internet (but google apps and others like Spotify were connecting to the internet).

As it was a new feature added at the time, I was able to figure it out, as soon as I turned the usb tethering off, the WiFi hotspot connection, connects showing the relevant symbols etc with no issues on all apps.

CHR12345 I've tried that, and it didnt work for me....

Evollove For some reason it is no longer working🙁. I have replicated the steps with the usb cable but it’s just failing to connect to the provisioned hotspot (wifi and usb, both not working.

DUDU-Meng This is exciting update. First i've tried USB tethering and it was completely WORKING right away. After that i've removed the cable, went to WIFI and connected to the iphone while USB tethering was ON, and its still was connected no problem. So for this update both WIFI tethering and USB tethering was working great. Before turning on USB tethering sometimes i still saw IP failure couple of times, but it was still connected 1 out of 3 times, after turning on USB tethering, it was be able to connect all the time. (obviously with cable removed). I will keep watching and testing connection and will update after some time.
P.S. One weird thing that I've noticed right away with this update is that FAN turning ON and OFF every couple of seconds from some reason, (in settings it was set as usual on Auto and 60 degrees). Before it was working correctly, and worked until temperature went below certain threshold (60 degress). So thanks a lot for this update we can use hotspot now!!!

    1. Have you tested the new system I uploaded two days ago?
    2. After turning on the USB network sharing switch, the wifi hotspot can be used normally, right?
    3. Can I still use the wifi hotspot without turning on the USB network switch next time I turn on the computer?
    4. Is USB network sharing opened on DUDU7 or on iphone?

Yes, my last post has been about that last update that you've uploaded (DEBUG_DUDU7870_2504200208_2504190950)
2.After turning on the USB network sharing switch, the wifi hotspot can be used normally, right?
Yes, after turning on USB Tether switch on dudu7, and disconecting usb cable from the iphone, i was still be able to connect to WIFI hotspot on the iphone.

Yes, even when USB Thether switch is off, you can still use WIFI hotspot, but sometimes i've seen IP failure issue appear. But after a couple of attempts it went through and worked ok. I dont understand question about USB network sharing, if you meant USB thether, than it was activated on the Dudu.

@DUDU-Meng @Evollove boogiboy I've just installed a new DUDU7 unit and have an iPhone XS Max. I've been racking my brain trying to troubleshoot this iPhone hotspot connection, DHCP IP failure. Just today for the first time I've read through this whole thread. Pretty much have experienced most of the issues highlighted in previous user posts. But have not tried the iPhone Tether connection with cable in then cable out sequence. I'll also download and update my system with the latest firmware test for this issue and report back my findings with a YLOG included. Cheers

Could you please help me. I have the exact same issue. However it wouldn’t let me update it locally or via usb. It threw me the error message suggesting the servers were not reachable or the files maybe too old. Please guide me on how I may install the update

SHAQX Download that file, use 7z compatible un-unarchiver to unpack it content. Copy all those files into root of your USB drive (it should be formatted as FAT-32). Insert USB drive it into your DUDU 7 radio, in a couple of seconds you will see pop-up menu with START button, click on it, and installation begins. After installation is finished, it will ask you to remove USB drive and it will restart itself. DONE.

boogiboy Thank you so much, that's exactly what I ended up doing last night and it worked!, I truly appreciate the help.

DUDU-Meng The hotspot works directly without using the USB cable to tether for my device. Thank you so much for all your help. The navbar however, cannot be hidden in this update.

                This is very good news.
The comment is that after upgrading the firmware in the connection I posted 4 days ago, the iphone hotspot will work fine?

DUDU-Meng , Yes, after the upgrade, it just worked, I didn't have to do anything tedious. it just performed flawlessly. Thank you for your help!!
