  • Enabling Android app notifications/popups

Have there been any updates on controlling notifications, or is this not in the feature pipeline? I can see that the per-app notifications settings are enabled, but popups do not work. Perhaps notification popups would cause issues with the launcher? It would be great to see this for WhatsApp, Messenger, Google Voice, etc.

    Ich würde diese Funktion auch sehr begrüßen. Für mich ist WhatsApp sehr wichtig.
    Das Thema Sicherheit ist natürlich sehr wichtig ABER anstatt dem User vorzuschreiben was er tun darf, solltet ihr solche Sachen als Option einbauen, dann kann jeder für sich selber entscheiden was er mag und was nicht.

      Поддерживаю вывод уведомлений(в всплывающем окне и звуковым оповещением) от приложений. Прошу позволить пользователям самим решать от каких приложений они хотят получать уведомления.

        Until they fix it or make this option possible i am using the app Notification Popup.
        You can set up 3 apps that then gives you a popup, if you want more, you have to buy it.
        But for me WhatsApp is very important so this is ok.

                hrtloop We tried it today.
                Thete is a popup, you can go to the app via this popup and then you can take the call.
                But i couldn't hear a ringtone.
                I couldn't hear my wife but she heard me.

                  Thanks - I've done some testing on my end and it looks like if my phone is connected via bluetooth to the headunit, whatsapp calls do come through, I can hit Answer, and two way audio works. That notification is coming from the phone, not the headunit's whatsapp.

                  The Notification Popup app you shared above allows me to see incoming whatsapp and google voice notifications, so it's great to have. The problem is that all notifications I'd previously viewed on my phone from those apps will pop up on the headunit as soon as I start the vehicle, so I then need to skip through them. I don't think there is a way to fix this. There are two other apps I've found that might be better for this purpose: "Bridge - mirror notifications" and Pushbullet. I'm going to test them over the next week.

                  Hopefully they integrate native app calls/notifications into DUDUOS down the line. It seems like normal Android notification behavior has been disabled in DUDUOS - I'm assuming this is due to some sort of compatibility issue.

                        JhonnyD I just posted a quick review of Floatify. You may want to check it out, as it is a lot more configurable than the apps I tested earlier.
