  • DUDU 7 USB AUDIO OUT

hey, first of all, merry christmas everyone.
second, i am new here so hello its me 🙂

Now to my question, i got a dudu 7 and i am wondering if that "USB AUDIO OUT" works with my Helix DSP 3 with installed HEC HD Audio USB card. I dont wanna rip out everything without knowing if the USB AUDIO OUT works from the DUDU 7 to the DSP. So if i get a long USB Cable and put it in the DUDU 7 and the other end to my DSP does it work or not? i know my DSP extension Card works with any USB device that outputs Audio over USB.

If anyone runs USB AUDIO OUT direct into your DSP from the DUDU7 let me know pls! Thanks! : : :

has no one running the radio on USB AUDIO OUT ?

gismo hey thanks for answering, but that thread does not answer my question, they talk about a DAC connected to the Radio that is connected to a TOSlink and not using a USB cable directly from the radio into the HELIX DSP and btw i have seen that thread before, but its a different topic and has nothing to do with my question. So i would appreciate if someone could answer my question or just let it sit here till someone can. Thanks 🙂

Cheezzy actually they talk about both...

Edit: But I understand it's about the HEC USB extension board plugged into your Helix. It really depends on whether it is compatible with Android or needs a driver. The HEC manual indicates Android compatibility and there's a driver download but Windows only. So I'd think it should work with Android without driver but you should confirm with Fischer. If it's compatible with Android, it'll be fine with Dudu7 - as shown in the other thread.

gismo thanks mate, ye i just dont want to rip everything apart without knowing if it works. But i rly appreciate your answer. so "if" it works, i only plug a usb cable to the radio and the other end into my DSP and everything should be work like normal? Have a great day!

Cheezzy yes and you would select USB audio out in settings. But verify with Fischer if it's compatible with Android...

Just catching up, recently joined the group. I am currently using a 7862 Joying head unit running the original Joying firmware. I have it connected to my Helix Ultra DSP both coaxial and via the USB HEC to the joying OTG USB. I can force digital output via the USB using UAP (USB Audio Player Pro). But it will only play locally stored music files from the UAP app over the USB, other functions, Radio, Navi, other apps (YouTube, Tidal, Spotify, etc., default to the coax when selected. I understand from SAAB Unleashed, that the DUDU7 enhanced 7870's internal DAC will allow for digital audio passthrough. This should allow us to use the USB-c connection for "pure" digital audio to the USB HEC without any other connection. I really want this to be true, going to go read that recommended thread to see if I can glean some tidbits of information. USB will be superior because it can utilize the connection in a two-way fashion allowing the synchronization of the DAC's clocks with some Voodoo algorithm stuff creating a stable stream of data. TOSlink and SPDIF is just one way and can introduce "jitter" because the clock cycles from the source to the DAC is not harmonized. Cross your fingers, this could be the Holy Grail for using an Android Head Unit as a universal digital music source. Enough rattling, onto the link gismo provided.

Hi All, I am having issues with USB audio output from DUDU7.
Whereas, RCA, High-level, Optical spdif and coaxial is working perfectly fine but USB audio is not working.
I did all possible resets and updates. Then also it's not working.

It was working yesterday and after I turned off the car and turned on, it stopped working.
